Bicycle Works reviews
6Dishonest practice, they quote one price over the phone and then quadruple the price when you get there. For instance, I called and spoke to someone and told them exactly what we were looking to get fixed on an electric bike. It was only the innertube that needed to be replaced or fixed. They quoted me $10-$15, however, when my 92 year old Uncle walked in with his electric bike. They quoted him $50. To replace a tube for his rear wheel when I inquired about the ridiculous amount and reminded them of the phone conversation, they started stuttering and stumbling over their words to convince them selves their reasoning for a charging $35-$40 to replace his inner tube on his electric bike. One customer followed us outside and asked me how much did they charge? He agreed the price of it was absurd. Needless to say we will not be back.
Had the best experience here yesterday buying a bike. To say the customer service is amazing here is an understatement. As I was shopping for a bike a couple of people came in to pick up theirs and just the way he talks you can tell there’s a real passion for bikes. He really cares!
Care being the key word. I felt very well taken care of here and I know if I need something down the line bike-related Ted, the owner, will be my go-to guy.
Ted is a very nice old man who has a passion for bicycles and people who love to ride. I had a last minute blowout on my electric bike and he was able to help me with a last minute repair and fix before he was closing for the day. My bike is my only transportation in Long Beach so I was very appreciable.
Ted, the man who owns this bike shop, is awesome. Brought in a bicycle I bought on amazon for a chain repair, and that is all he charged me for, even though he did a full tune-up as well. Very nice guy and enjoyable to talk to. I can't guarantee anyone else will get such deals, and in my case, it did require standing around and waiting for several hours while he helped customers that came after me, but all is well that ends well. I told him I am only able to work part-time and money is short, so he was really nice and took the time to explain to me how to do the tune-up myself if I need one again!
Ted is the best. Thanks for fixing my bike at a very reasonable price.
