Biergarten @ Old World HB Restaurant & Bar reviews
17The dunkel is amazing! If the schnitzel came with some sides and maybe was a few bucks cheaper I would give this place 5 stars for sure! Good food, good beer and good service. Just a bit on the expensive side.
First time here for dinner. Usually we would come during Oktoberfest. We ate inside which looked like a yurt. Ambience and service 5 stars. We ordered the sausage platter that has their best 6 sausages, I enjoyed the range in flavours, some were spicy w and some had more herbs Allwere satisfyingly great. The weiner (veal) schnitzel was good and crispy, only thing missing is a side of pickled cucumbers and lingonberry sauces! If they had that, it would’ve been perfect. Beef goulash was also yummy, perfect for this cold weather. Definitely a go to spot when you feel like some German food.
Has all the foods from my childhood. Converted the wife from mall pretzels to real pretzels so it is now an annual stop
Cute quaint little spot to hangout. I went for the Christmas fair but want to come back to check it out for food and drinks.
A shame this place doesn't get more business. They have a great delicatessen on hand with and attached grocery featuring authentic German fare with many imports available. Attached restaurant serves German cuisine and of course there's the biergarten. Across the street from Costco and Bella Terra, a hidden gem in my book.
Had a giant hot pretzel with mustard that was really good. Draft beers and tequila just a fun night.
This biergarten and village was amazing, it is super pretty, there are plenty of shops with German items to look through, and the biergarten itself was so fun! Our waitress was amazing, every staff member we interacted with was amazing, they do have HUGE pretzels (pictured), the schnitzel was good, and the bloody Mary was fantastic and even came with a little charcuterie board esque pick inside (pictured). I wish I didn't live so far but I can't wait to go back.
Went to see Strange Love the Depeche Mode Experience. Parked across the street, great food and bar service. Sound was great. Lots of seating, great outdoor patio too.
We went to Old World for the last Oktoberfest weekend, but decided to instead eat in the restaurant - less noisy, cheaper, more fun. True German food and beer - and everything was brown.:)
We got the sampler trio and the two pretzels. The trio sampler was $12 and the two pretzels were $8. We waited awhile before the server showed up and she also forgot to bring us water. The food was good. The pretzel was super fresh and delicious.
Went here on a Wednesday when it was free. Oktoberfest only comes once a year and the style of beers they brew is awesome. This is probably the best and most authentic Oktoberfest you can visit in all of Southern California. I've been to others and they don't even touch how cool this place is. The weekend is even better.
You buy $20 Tickets and there are very limited tables, unless you reserve one! Very disappointing for first timers.
Never been! But I enjoy German culture! And they seemed so kind to one of my fave YouTubers! German in Venice and Suki the sweet pup
Good place to goto for october fest! Good vibes and everyone is friendly no matter who you are!
Pork knuckle, freshly baked pretzel, a glass of Paulaner brewed for Oktoberfest are excellent. The real atmosphere of a German beer pub.
Visited on 09/25/2022 Saturday. Oktoberfest.
The worse place.
-Crowdy. Number of people not regulated (but you have to pay 18$ entrance fee.) No place to sit. If you want to eat or drink, you stand.
-overpriced. Beer 18$. Plate of mashed potato, cabbage and a sausage around 25-40$.
-rude vendors (at least mine).
-parking fee.
- restrooms are disaster.
First and last time there.
Only my new favorite Biergarten in OC. So I’m super biased and I love anything Deutsche but this place made me feel at home. I did go during Oktoberfest so it had the vibe: lederhosen, dirndl, the horns, and cute European girls. Just awesome. The food was just alright and the potato salad wasn’t Bavarian like München but they tried. Still awesome.
