Big Basin Vineyards reviews
6These are among the very best wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains and well beyond. When I moved to Boulder Creek, I thought I'd become a member in support of the only winemaker in town, just because I should. I was shocked to discover the high quality and surprised I hadn't heard more about them sooner.
The owners were really nice! It was a great experience & we even got to walk through the vineyards!
Beautiful venue, fantastic wines, and the people who run it are super friendly. Sometimes parking is an issue, but seems like they're improving that too. They won a spot in 100 best wines, highly recommend!
Edit: two years later and the parking situation is much improved. I love Rhone varietals and Big Basin has some of the best, along with other lesser-known varietals carignan and mourvedre which are excellent. Absolutely worth the windy road to get there!
Really love the friday firesides however, one staff member is not enough to keep up with the number of people who attend. I felt like I was waiting most of my time there; for wine, and in line for food - empanada man was drinking wine while working and couldn't get orders straight or who was first. I spent 20 minutes or more in his line then another 20 in line to check out. I was ready to relax with friends and nice wine and music but instead waited in lines. We should be allowed to bring our own food since catering isn't going so well
These wines are very good. Made with care with quality grapes. If you like wines, you have found your treasure.
I’ve been a member of the BBV wine club longer than any other. Bradley and his team do an amazing job year after year. This glass is a taste of the 2017 Coastview Vineyards Terraces Syrah.
