Big Bear LakeFront Lodge

I always stay at Lakefront lodge when I go to big bear. Its perfect with close proximity to the bear mountain and snow summit ski resorts. It also has great views of the lake if you choose to stay at the lake view rooms. Highly recommend this place.

Really great staff and awesome location! Right on the lake and even with the low water levels, it was still beautiful to wake up to every morning. Definitely more low key than other hotels but for sure will be staying again next time we are in Big Bear!

I NEVER write reviews so someone either has to do something terribly wrong or REALLY go above and beyond for me to do so. In this case, it’s a little bit of both:

We had booked a room at the local Motel 6 a week in advance and showed up to check in around 8pm just to find out that they had overbooked every single room they had. The lobby was full of understandably, irate, should-be patrons who were told that they didn’t have a room, despite making reservations in advance.

I immediately started calling other motels in the area and remembered that the Lakefront Lodge was the other option comparable in price when I booked our room at Motel 6. Christopher was working the desk and said he had one cabin left—It was a little out of our price range but still the cheapest option in town. I went back inside the lobby of the Motel 6 to see if there was any chance at all that we could get a room. A manager lady told me they MIGHT be able to secure us one but I would have to wait and see. Meanwhile, our chances of securing a room elsewhere were quickly dwindling. Then at 9pm my phone rang— It’s Christopher from the Lakefront Lodge. Christopher tells me that he had a family move into the larger cabin and he now has a room for us that is actually a few bucks cheaper than the Motel 6 and that he just needs 30-45 minutes to get it cleaned for us. Are you serious? ! This kind of customer service is something you just don’t find anymore. This guy went above and beyond, calling me back, remembering my name and setting us up with something in our price range. He said he needed another 30-45 minutes to get the room cleaned but by the time we arrived 20 minutes later, he already had it ready, having cleaned it himself. Now that’s a next-level guy. Thank you Christopher—after losing faith in humanity with the dimwits at Motel 6, you restored it in spades.

Oh, and the diggs weren’t bad either—actually a step above Motel 6. If you’re reading this now, don’t question your options—book with the Lakefront Lodge!

This was a perfect place for me to get away. I do not spend much time at a hotel, so the amenities or outside condition of the hotel is not that important. All I was looking for was a clean bed, clean bathroom, small refrigerator, and coffee machine. This place has easy access to the downtown area to go exploring. The staff here are very friendly, and because of this, I will return.

Horrible! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Filthy dirty disgusting, run down and false advertising! Got the king bed with the spa tub. The place does not look like what's on their website or expedias website! The lake has receded so far back that the dock is no longer in the water.the bed was so worn down that you would just sink right into the center. Disgusting stained pillows and towels. The spa tub had oily black stuff coming out of the jets.so so Very disappointing. Especially our first time coming to big bear. Manager offered a discount for our NEXT stay, saying she apologizes for the linens and pillows being stained, that the washer was currently broken and they had to use the public laundry mat. Definitely wont be back!

Quick get away spot was perfect. Relaxing, great view of the lake, everything is close by, cozy and clean. Everything we needed including a fire place. Lexi at the front desk was welcoming and informative. The staff was very polite made our stay great.

As I realized I hadn't packed my camping tent, I called the front desk in a tiff. Charlotte was inviting, warm, and kind enough to assure me that there was a room for me immediately and it was cheaper than what was listed!
When I arrived, she upgraded me to a suite that included a kitchen because she had known I intended on camping and brought my own food to cook.
The place was clean, homey, and cozy, placed right across the street from Big Bear Lake, with a heater AND fireplace!
I had a hard time leaving.
I hope to come back soon!

I have been coming to Big Bear for 40 years and never stayed here. I will definitely be coming back. Very nice staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and a nice view of the lake.

FALSE ADVERTISING! Do not believe what Big Bear Lakefront Lodge promises, they will steal your money every chance they get! Please be very careful with this establishment, they are a bunch of crooks!

Everything was good, very clean and convenient, it’s close to the village which was nice, it has free Wi-Fi and you don’t have to use your Netflix account you can just use the one that is provided, Overall I will definitely stay here again

VERY Friendly front desk, but hot tub in room didn't work in room 10 4/2 to 4/3 and I had ants crawling on me. I DID PHOTOGRAPH THE ANTS!

Good little place that’s private and right by the lake. Stores are close and place is clean. They brought more towels and bedding when I needed it. Also very friendly non commercial type people. Looks family owned and I like that

This place is horrible. Came out here on 10/01/21. There was no staff in the office so I waited about 15 minutes before someone showed up. Then I get to my room and the knob is hanging loose. The rooms are dated and have old gross bedding. Fireplace didn’t work, space heater didn’t work and the TV didn’t either. The water at the lake has receded about 200 yards so it’s not lakefront any more. Looking at the large “jacuzzi” tub we found rat droppings. I ended up checking out and staying somewhere else. Management refuses to return calls or refund me for the room. You call their number and they have a fake recording that tells you that you’ll need to call again because you dialed the number wrong. Don’t waste your money here.

Very much worth the money. Other than cleanliness (subpar), everything else was wonderful.

There’s two parking lots, one out front and one out back nearest the lake. We stayed in the double queen room on the second floor facing the lake, room 19. The view is amazing. There is a kitchenette equipped with mini fridge, microwave and 4-cup coffee maker. There were also 2 mugs, but no other cutlery or plates, so keep that in mind. There were both a gas heater and a gas fireplace in the room both fully functional. The TV remote didn’t work very well. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom. There was also no closet space, but instead there is a coat rack and a dresser, which fully accommodated out belongings.
The location is great as well, just a 5 minute or so walk away from the Village. And obviously the lake is just in your backyard.

The cleanliness was for sure an issue. The bathroom floor was covered in grey clumps of dust, so if you’re allergic be careful.
Other than that, I can’t think of anything that we didn’t like here. Will be staying agin.

This place is terrible.
The "owner" was very rude.
The room had a gas fireplace but no smoke detectors.
The stairs are unsafe.
