Bistango in Irvine reviews
17The restaurant layout is interesting and as a result the ambient noise was lower than expected. Our server, Moses, was wonderful and fun and added to our excellent dining experience. I ordered the filet mignon, my wife ordered the gnocchi, both were prepared to perfection and delicious. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Great drinks, good food and great ambiance. Caters to an older crowd. Live music was a nice touch!
We celebrated NYE at Bistango last night. We had the best time the food, the service the ambiance. AMAZING! We were a party of nine including four children, the server Eddie accommodated all of our request and recommended the best food options. Highly recommend Bistango, thank you for an amazing night!
Paid $185.00 plus tip, tax, and wine (times two) for second seating this NYE. First impression was of chaos, as first seating crowd was bunched up at the door waiting for their cars while the valets were rushing to handle the incoming and outgoing traffic, heroic but undermanned and overwhelmed. We waited patiently while the pretty young ladies of the front desk tried, and eventually got us newcomers seated, that wait due to the busses not able to clear the tables fast enough for a clean turnover.
My wife had to visit the loo. She returned looking pale, apparently having encountered a restroom as dirty as any she had encountered and had cleaned the floor, and wiped the sink.
Michael, our server, was where things started looking up. He didn't rush anything, his pace aimed at our comfort, wants and wishes. Our wine was fine, a good California chardonnay (we both had fish). First course was good, the main course.my wife had sea bass, which was her favorite from past meals here, but this was not the night as the presentation was sloppy, the risotto soggy, as if it had been in the pot too long. I had the divers scallops and they were fine. Dessert was not, although I didn't send it back. Dessert, after all, is still dessert.
Music began at 9: 00 pm. The band was terrific, playing 60s and 70s R&R and R&B, which was very danceable and the dance floor was crowded, which was as it should have been.
All things considered, 3 stars going on 4, deductions for cost (last year it was $125.00, so 50% increase seemed steep), their inability to properly handle the first-to-second transition (more bussers and valets would have helped) and not freezing the deserts, then thawing them for too long.
We are regulars here for the dancing, and we wish them well. But we must be honest in our reviews. I overtipped Michael, as he provided excellent service, but management must consider this experience and plan better for next year.
Absolutely awful customer service. We had to return our king salmon it was terrible. When I ordered a bottle of wine, the told me no so I suggested a different bottle but at a a $20 discount and the general manager said he didn't care and for me to just order something else at full price. Never again
My husband and I attended a Holiday party being hosted at Bistango. Everything we ate and drank was phenomenal! The octopus salad was incredible and the most tender octopus I've ever eaten. The filet mignon was to die for amd was also exceptionally tender. The service was great and the staff were all so friendly. The banquet room was very spacious. The space was PERFECT for a work party, rehearsal dinner, etc. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely go back.
Bistango's. Maintains its trendy, artsy atmosphere in Irvine, CA. Place your order for the Grand Marnier Souffle in advance. It takes a 1/2 hr to prepare and is well worth the wait.
Just a little dinner on this Halloween evening. Place to ourselves, great service and outstanding food.
Food was incredible, highly recommend the grilled bacon wrapped petite filet appetizer, shrimp risotto entree and flan for dessert. We went on a Tuesday night and they also had live piano music, ambiance was really nice.
Bistango is a fun nice restaurant and bar. We enjoy going sometimes just to listen to the band and have a souffle for dessert. It's repeat place for us.
In one word.always classic.creative and accommodating menu.flexible chief
Ambience is great.and live music.

Recommended by Valet attendant because Ruth Chris wasn't open yet. The food and environment was great.
It only took 35 years of living until I tasted the best spaghetti bolognese in my life here, at Bistango. Let me also mention the best chocolate souffle Ive ever had! Id like to think im a good cook already, so I know what kind of effort and thought goes into making such food. The atmosphere was also lively and not too loud. I'm quite sad that I live out of town, but you can guarantee I will be back again.
Live music was too loud couldn't hear the person next to me, otherwise nice.
Chicken was too salty, yet flavorful.
Steak was 10/10. Dessert was ok
Best of the best food, music, ambiance, and friendly service can not be better than this. I love it all the way hard to find a classy place like here in Orange County, but Thursday night live music is phenomenal
We had the best time at Bistango! The food was amazing, the service was perfect, and the music was fantastic! I was visiting from out of state and this was a last minute change from previous plans, that we ended up here. We are so pleased we did end up here. I would give this place a perfect rating!
