Overall, excellent meal. The burnt chicken pudding dessert was extremely unique and something I’d come again to have on its own. The beet salad was awesome. The cauliflower dish could have had more labneh. Thank you!

We got the octopus appetizer and bass entree. The octopus was decent. The bass was very flavorful, crispy skin. Presentation was nice. Service could be improved. It took around 5 min to be greeted by the server, we weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink besides water, and an appetizer (chickpea bread) we ordered never came out. The tables are a bit cramped so when people have to get by your table their clothes are brushing against you.

That was a great experience. I went with my boyfriend who loved everything. We ordered tuna, scallop and salmon and chicken pudding. Was so good and tasty. Chicken pudding was so yummy and interested.
We will come back again.

The food took awhile to arrive but you would know exactly why! Everything was freshly prepared and very tasty. Caesar salad was to die for with home made amazing dressing and crotons tasted like they just came out of the oven. Saksuka was very flavorful and fresh as well. The service was friendly but a bit on a slow side. Definitely would recommend!

Was excited to try this place after seeing all the beautiful photos online and reading about the chef/owner, but our meal was not impressive in flavor despite the creative aesthetics.

Service was slow and inadequate.
There were 2 menus for the 3 of us so we asked for another menu twice, but even after saying they'd bring us another one, they didn't.
It took about 20-30 minutes for us to receive our entrees after starters.
We sat for 30 mins or so after completing our meal without service, even though we were sitting in the line of sight of the front counter. It took some effort to flag someone down despite them coming and going, serving the table next to us.

Although nicely decorated, the space is small and loud (the sound really ricochets). And they seated us at a table right next to the front door which means people coming in and waiting will stand right next to you, and you'll experience any drafts from the door which was left open at times.

We ordered 8 dishes and didn't like any of them enough to say we'd want to go back.
- The chickpea bread is what you would imagine a gluten-free bread to be - dry and crisp. The butter looks so freaking cool, but you don't get much flavor from the spicy honey, olive oil, and rosemary oil.
- The mud cheese and the tomatoes in the watermelon salad were really good.
- Beet salad is middle of the road and tastes of licorice from the fennel.
- Couscous was toothsome, creamy, and savory.
- Manti skin was a bit dry and tough. The yogurt and mint sauces paired well with the lamb.
- Dining buddy said the scallops were ok.
- The lamb was medium tenderness and lacked flavor - dipping it in the yogurt and mint sauces helped. Although it was a generous amount of meat, we wouldn't pay $44 for this dish again.
- The sea bass was cooked well w crispy skin and the clams were good, but the accompaniments were absolutely tasteless, and that's coming from a super taster! Did they forget the preserved lemon? Def not worth $42
- They did gift us some rose flavored Turkish delight which was lightly flavored and very chewy.

Had we gotten service closer to when we ended our meal, we may have considered desert. But not at 9: 20pm after we'd been sitting there for more than 2 hours (and had stopped eating over half an hour ago).

All dishes we ordered plated nicely. Tomato&watermelon salad, octopus, lamb mutancana, and burnt chicken pudding will bring us back. Thank you!

It is a wonderful restaurant that combines the most delicious, unique and Turkish flavors I have ever eaten in San Francisco. I would definitely recommend it. You should especially try octopus.

Although we saw great reviews in the press, we were really motivated to go to EMBER based on the recommendation of a foodie friend. Rarely do we leave a restaurant thinking everything was 100% perfect but we definitely felt 100% satisfied at EMBER. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with everything from the banquettes to the bathroom in pristine condition and pleasing to the eye. We wanted to order everything on the menu but decided to follow the suggestions of Emir who guided us towards his recommendations. We were not disappointed with anything we ordered. The wine list was complete with a wide variety of options. The sauvignon blanc we ordered was delicious. If we had to pick one word to describe our experience, it would be - flawless.

Upscale Mediterranean food, lovely and attentive staff who were so eager to please! Delicious and creative tastes, especially the lamb mutancana which is rich and tender. The desserts were amazing! Be sure to save room for them. We are local to the neighborhood and look forward to more amazing meals. The story of Chef Deniz on the website is utterly charming and we wish him big success!

Fabulous! Took friends in town from New Zealand and we were all raving about what a great experience we had. Gorgeous decor w/o being pretentious; sweetest possible staff; and unusual, DELICIOUS dishes (especially the lamb). We ordered two of the three desserts and the adorable waiter just had to bring us the third, complimentary. LOVE THIS PLACE

When we saw the new signage a couple months ago for this restaurant, we were keen to give it a try. We really enjoyed the restaurant that was previously in this space, so we had high hopes that this would be another “Go To”.

Bistro Ember is a solid restaurant! As it’s in its infancy, there are a couple things that need improvement, but overall we were very pleased with the food and the service was very good. First off, the remodel of the space is very elegant… not pretentious in anyway, but definitely sets the tone that this is a “fine dining” experience. Bringing our 3 y/o boys might have been a mistake as the atmosphere isn’t conducive to kids, but the staff were so nice to them, as rowdy as they can be.

The only knocks we had was that the portions are small for the prices charged and that the wine list is a bit limited,

Overall, the food is very good and the experience of dining here is very pleasant. There’s room for improvement, and that should be viewed optimistically.

The presentation is awesome. The food is awesome. The staff is super friendly. Noisy, even though they used the acoustic panels to make the room acoustics better.

Wow! This place was absolutely amazing. Whatever you do, get the octopus- it is so tender, flavorful, and the perfect balance of so many flavors: sweet, salty, a little citrus, and even a bit of heat towards the end. The Mirtab with fresh dill is such a good mix of umami and refreshing flavors.

I loved every minute of this dinning experience. The staff is also exceptional!

Absolutely delicious Californian spin on Mediterranean food. 100% try the stuffed squash blossoms and a crunchy chicken skin dessert pudding with goat cheese ice-cream - yummm! Manti are also very tasty but a more expected taste, recommend to adjust the price slightly down.
