BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, San Mateo CA

The host and manager were extremely rude to my boyfriend when his mask fell so he didn't have a clean one to wear. They wouldn't offer one or let us walk 10 steps to our table with him covering his face with his shirt (much thicker than a mask), and insisted we go buy a new one if we want to enter. Needless to say we didn't eat there, and won't be giving them our service again.

Once again, another overhype restaurantThat plates are way larger than the portion. Smh. In all honesty It's just an overpriced Denny's

I had a bad experience at the front door where the girl who attend us was in a really bad mood and made us wait more time. There were bad organized at the host stage.

Manager and host very rude. Did not let us walk in and did not offer a new mask after explaining that mask fell on the floor. Tried to force me to wear my dirty mask and instructed I leave to buy one from target. Ruined our date. Never coming here again due to manager.

I was in town on a hectic overnight gig. BJ's was the most convenient option when I badly needed a relaxing sit-down meal. The rib special was by far the best value within walking distance of my hotel and it was excellent. The service was impeccable even when I had to cut my dinner short. Bryan was an exceptional waiter and any restaurant should be happy to have him on staff. I will always dine here when I'm working in the area.

Maybe it is not a mandatory rule but I think that if some of their guests unfortunately do not bring a mask for some reason, if they lost it, they broke it or got dirty, whatever happens it would be nice if you can provide a mask since now that the rules have changed due to the pandemic. So in my case I only brought with me 2 my wife and my daughter I kindly asked if they could give me a mask but they refused telling me that they do not offer a mask and rudely asked me to go outside. … 12 minutes back home for a damn mask they could very well provide.

Sat at the Bar area for dinner, sat for 20 min waiting for service, told the waiter that we were ready, he said okay will help us shortly,
waited 25 minutes and saw him help other tables. After waiting 45 min left. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

Brian, our waiter, was outstanding! We went on a Saturday night - there were 8 of us. He provided outstanding service. The hostesses could be nicer. We did the waitlist on the app 30 minutes before we got there and still had to wait another 30 minutes.

But it’s okay - Brian’s service and the quality of food made up for it. Thank you Brian!

Togo doesn't like to give receipts. Ordered a sandwich got a Flatbread pizza. Had to reorder sandwich and pay for it! Always get a receipt to lookout here!

They knocked it out of the park today! The server was super nice. She took my order right away and the food was out no time. The ahi poke at BJ's is just as good as anywhere else, If not better! We also had chicken pot stickers which were excellent. And my hefeweizen wasn't bad either!

From the minute I walked in the staff was a little to laid back and in responsive. Restroom was a mess no toilet paper. There were more employees in there they customers.the food was good but could be so much better.but after all beer is the driving force here.

Overall this is a good restaurant. The front staff attitude was lacking but the service was good and you could tell the waiter was working hard to keep things going. The food, while not quick, was good.

Very bad experience, I ordered takeout 30 minutes before they closed and they told me that in 15 minutes I would be ready, wait outside since I was with my wife and I did not want to go down, when I returned for the food they told me that they did not have what I requested and They are already going to close so they could not give me the service that I had already paid for.and I had to stay without dinner because of him.

1st time ever I can remember not having to wait to be seated. It was nice! Food was excellent, service excellent, everything was excellent! Definitely recommend. What's good about BJ's is their menu, they have something for everyone no matter what you're craving & it's all good.

I called an order into BJs restaurant and received the worst phone service ever. Also, the food was horrible and they didn’t get the order right either. Even when we went inside, after waiting 5 min for someone to answer, the people were very rude. Hope they pick up the service, or it will be the next to close

They need to clean the glass partitions between the bar snd the restaurant, really NOT clean.
Important always but especially during pandemic times,

I ordered potstickers and sweet potato fries from BJs in San Mateo to go. When I got home (live 2 min away), my food was cold and had almost no flavor. Not to mention I got a small order of sweet potato fries upon opening. See the picture, they didn’t even fill it all the way up. This is really poor service for the price being paid.

We have been coming here on Mondays to enjoy the half price pizza! But the best part is walking in to the smile and amazing Angelina B! She pays attention to detail, always a great conversation and awesome service. Keep up the great work Angelina B! Dan and Annette

Filthy. Every aspect of our experience suggested management simply doesnt care. That napkin in the picture was nt used. That was when unrolled it to get my utensils. Dust at least a year thick in the booth, stuff stuck to the wall and who knows what stuck all over the salt shaker.
