Black Angus Steakhouse, San Jose CA

Decided to give this location another chance. Prices are higher like many places after the pandemic, but our son was nearly done with his kids meal before the rest of our meals showed up. We asked for medium on the steaks, but they came out over cooked and tough. Not a hint of pink. Tasted alright though. I like the western ambiance, but the slow service, small portions, and the overcooked steaks make me question whether to come back here again. I feel like $160 for a family of 4 (including a kids meal) is steep. I feel like that kind of money could further at another restaurant.

Celebrated my birthday with family. Matthew provided us with the best service! We so appreciated his attentive, but not annoying service. He had a great sense of humor and kept us smiling. For two of us, our fresh salmon with green beans was outstanding. Filet was just ok. Chicken was a bit dry. Good to see the place busy again without the noise usually associated with the crowds. We will be back.

I love how spacious and unique the interior design looked. Also, the portions were surprisingly affordable considering the size. I easily filled up on the garlic pepper zucchini, garden salad, and baked potato, but the main courses and starters were all delicious. I totally recommend the baby back ribs. They were so tender and savory The variety of non-alcoholic beverages were also desirably flavorful. I recommend trying the pineapple-passion seltzer for anyone who's coming here the first time.

The service and employees were excellent. Everybody had a smile on their face. And or pleasant to interact with. Very helpful.
It was not too crowded inside although I did a to-go order.
Currently there is construction going on in the parking lot so it's a little tight at times but I'm sure that will be resolved when the construction is completed.

The food was good. The two cowboy cut prime rib that I got were not as good as some that I've gotten in the past but still good quality meat.

The to go order with placed online and everything was ready and waiting for me when I got there.

All the sides were fresh and delicious. I will order from them again.

We hadn't been here in a long time and found this one is still open, always great food, service was good and meal was not a long wait

Busy for a Friday night and our waitress seems to be serving many tables. She did her best.

Great meal all around! This visit was a bit disappointing as the prime rib was pretty bland. Also not sure if it was the waitress' fault but everything took much longer than usual.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews. I rarely do this. However, maybe the quality will increase if they receive enough honest complaints. Maybe it can be as great as it was in the 90’s. The food was horrible. The best thing I had was the ice water. We ordered fried zucchini. That was decent. The cucumber dip it came with was awful. Waaay too much garlic and salt. The bread tasted like it was 2-3 days old. The worst part was the main dish. I don’t remember the name. It was shrimp made 3 different ways, and veggies. The shrimp tasted like wood in a shrimp shell. It was old. Not rotten, but old and seemed like they had been frozen. The breaded shrimp was too hard to eat. Not crispy, hard-hard. The veggies were also hard, the drizzle on them was sticky and really gross. We both ate a few and couldn’t continue. I’ve never complained at a restaurant. This was an expensive dish but it was worse than something you’d pop in the microwave. Our waiter was professional and understanding. We did get a refund. I’m submitting a review because I hope things change. I was planning to go there for my birthday. I used to go there with my mom and grandma. I have great memories there, so I’ll try again. In no way is my complaint a reflection of wait staff.

Best steak I've had in a while. All the food is top shelf, great service, in a comfortable setting.

Great place for Fish & Chips, on your day at the rail museum. If you don’t have the fish and chips, you really missed something.

It's been quite a while since the pre-pandemic that we've been back to Black Angus / Blossom Hill. This visit was way overdue.
After a brief 10 min wait, we were seated at a booth.
Our waitress, Coretta, was both professional & excellent in the timing of her service. From initial greetings to the delivery of Black Angus' famous bread, to the order taking of our drinks & dinner order follow up, she was there when looked for while discretely giving us our space to drink in the atmosphere & enjoy pleasant dinner conversation.
Our appetizer was the loaded potato skins. For dinner, we both ordered the Sirlion Center Cut, 12 Oz, med-rare, both were excellent.
While we might quibble about our drinks, more ice vs drinks, & sides, the serving seemed a lityle lite, our overall experience was delightful.
We highly recommend Black Angus for an above average experience and look forward to coming back & hopefully being served by Coretta once again.

Been to lots of Black Angus's and this was by far the best visit and best food from one that I've ever had! Edin our waiter was amazing friendly and very professional. Definitely will be back if I'm ever in the area again!

My in laws had the prime rib with starter, main, and desert. I had the 16 ounce rib eye steak and my wife the salmon. All dinners were seasoned well and tasted great. My salad was very good and had tomatoes and croutons. Service was excellent and on point. The bar drinks on the other hand seemed to lack any alcohol. Dinners were $30.00 each on average and up. My wife really enjoyed the salmon. Would go back for sure.

We had an excellent experience. We were seated quickly, had an attentive server, and I had one of the best steaks I'd had in a long time.

This was the first time for me. I had the best steak dinner ever. I can happily say that I would recommend this restaurant to my friends. I would give them 10 stars if I could. For my first time going to this restaurant I was very happy with the server. I decided to go to Black Angus because I wanted to try a place that I have never been to. I celebrated my birthday party there. Thank you Black Angus for all your friendliness. The service was awesome. My name is MARY.
