Black Bear Diner Mt. Shasta reviews
21This is a family favorite when we are traveling near this area. This place has the best egg's benedict and the flufiest pancakes, I have ever had. The food, the atmosphere is great. If you are in the area I really recommend you stop by. You won't be disappointed.
Personally, I truly enjoyed it. This is a beautiful part of the World (Shasta California) and to eat at the original Black Bear Diner was awesome.
1st bite into my omelette & I end up pulling a large paper wrapper out my mouth.waitress says they’ll cook it over, brinks back a plate of cold food.sigh, this place sucks.done, outta here, ain’t coming back, recommend anyone reading this to not even bother to go.terrible
Black Bear was recognizing our Veterans by providing a meal at their cost. We had a young lady who was new as our waitress. She was excellent.
The GM Sherri is rude. The cook failed to cook a decent meal. Eggs were cold. Potatoes were hard and had no flavor on top of I found a hair. I would never eat here ever again and I will be letting friends and family know not to eat at this place. Lead server Mac was rude and had no class when it comes to customers. Health department needs to be called. Mac and Lisa seem to make a hostile work environment and I wouldn't doubt seeing HR getting involved with the GM Sherri for allowing the Hostile working environment to continue. She clearly doesn't understand where the problem stands and it's with her.
Not too bad, but I had better food elsewhere. They were under staff and that is why it took some time to receive our meals.
Apparently this is the ORIGINAL black bear diner. No complaints. Clean and fast, courteous customer service. I felt the food portions were pretty good. Fairly similar to Dennys in my opinion, maybe a bit cheaper. They do have their own bear country theme going for them which is pretty neat.
Parking is a bit tight, but you can find parking on the street curb. One cool thing about this location is you have a good view of Shasta mountain, which is beautiful during the winter when it's covered with snow.
Not that great. Barely a look while the hostess walked by saying "this way". Got my order wrong, still waited on my bacon, and still didn't have a fork
Restaurant was packed. Staff was super busy, but efficient. We had a table within 20 minutes. Waitress was polite, knowledgeable, friendly. But definitely rushed. Food arrived really fast, even with the Restaurant so packed. Food was good, classic Black Bear taste we expected.
Busy, so ate at the counter. Service was fast and friendly. Chicken club sandwich on sourdough was delicious, but I thought the portion size was on the small side. I'm not a big eater so.you decide. Overall quite good.
Best restaurant in mount Shasta town. Best food and great service. We stayed in mount Shasta for 3days, we wanted to try other places but couldn’t find any other location like this. We end up going here 3 times.
There is something special about the staff at Black Bear Diner.
The waiter’s go beyond serving.
These are incredibly positive people and you leave there happier than when you walked in.
Oh, and the food is terrific!
No matter which Black Bear Diner you go to, the food is always consistently good. This one is the first one ever opened, and it has really cool looking old school stainless steel. The servers are friendly, fast, and make sure to keep your coffee cup full. Two thumbs up from me.)
Been here 4 times now and all 4 times my food was cooked incorrectly. Will not be returning. They need to really work on their quality.
Ordered two prime rib dinners and you could hardly cut through them. I ordered a Huckleberry shake, out of Huckleberries, out of fried chicken and out of vanilla ice cream.
I think it's safe to say it was very disappointing.
Great food. Warm. Hot off the grill, food. We had great service from Brandi and I was also impressed with the speed and multitask-ing that goes on in this diner. It’s the original one, we’re the magic started. In return, people never stopped flowing in. Not a thing was forgotten or an attitude given like other fast pace diner. Even though I think she had about 15 million other people stop and ask her for things on her way to get more yummy hollandaise sauce for me. And every time she said of course with a little smile and it just felt genuine, that’s the best part. My Eggs Bacon Benedict was delicious props to the cooks. Everyone was working hard.
Service was not good. Steak was hard to chew. Eggs were runny and I almost throw up. The server was irritated with the questions I asked! I don't recommend this place at all. Wait, I ordered a mimosa and that was just the right balance of champagne and Orange juice! That is why I have given this place one star.
The very first Black Bear.excellent food and service. I always stop here on my way through Shasta city and I have never been disappointed.
We visited this Black Bear Diner the first week it opened. We loved everything about it including the food! We've been back several times as we drive through the area. Little did we realized that the Black Bear Diner would expand to all over the USA from this very first one! Congratulations to the owners and creators of the Black Bear Diner!
My group had the Denver omelette, biscuits and gravy, and the eggs bacon Benedict. All in which where delicious. Our service was at its best with Brandie. She was attentive and even though we couldn’t see her smile we could tell she had a friendly one. I would explain it has a well organized chaotic, environment. Which made it a bit fun for us. We could tell our server has a lot of experience is managing each task between about 20 different people, all at once. Amazing. We came on probably their busiest days, a Sunday. Great service, great food, and most of all fast! We were hungry bears!
