Very unfriendly on the phone borderline disrespectful. Glad I called didn't waste my time driving there. They're not getting my business or my friends business.

I had a great experience. They are very knowledgeable and yes they answer all your questions. I like that better than an old school salesman. I was able to purchase a revolver and I couldn’t have asked for more in patience and a cool environment! This is the first place I’d recommend. Thank you.

Asked a question in a text or email and got a reply the next day. Good Guys, and right there in Fremont.

When Chuck’s employee dropped the ball, I called and explained the issue to him, and he went above and beyond, processed the transfer himself, and gave me 100 rounds for free as an apology. Such business owners put their money where their mouth is, and BDA will always be my go-to gun shop in the bay!

Fantastic shop, plenty of availability for guns, ammo and accessories, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a great time talking guns with Josh, they also have a lot of info on Milsurps and getting your hands on some of those if your into that sort of thing. Just great guys and I cant wait to gladly make the drive up from San Jose to see them again!

As I’ve read the most recent review I couldn't agree more. If you want bad customer service and wanting to feel like you’re an idiot after asking simple questions. I’d take my business elsewhere. Could’ve had a customer for life but instead the person who assisted me decided to wake up on the wrong side of the bed today. I live close by and had high hopes but with my encounter, I’d GLADLY drive the extra distance. The feeling of being belittled with condescending answers just leaves a super bad first impression. It’ll also leave a bad experience all around that’ll never be forgotten. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!

My preferred FFL. Good guys, good prices. Good selection of ammo, too, as well as various accesories, targets, hearing and eye protection, etc. Everything you'd need for a day at the range.

I've heard some complain about the wait times. That's just the reality of buying firearms in California. There's a ton of red tape and paperwork for both you and the FFL to fill out, and it has to be done right the first time. I've been to large retailers and it's no different. When you come in, make it easy on both the guys at Black Dog and everyone waiting in line behind you: research all the documents you'll need, and bring them with you. I've made this mistake before. It just wastes everyone's time.

These are good people who deserve your buisness. As long as I live in the Bay, I'll be going to these guys.

Waited to review these guys. Having purchased many firearms from this group, I've had some hit or misses, based of my experiences it has mostly been friendly. But there have been instances where I have purchased a firearm from this place and they talked down between eachother on the firearm I purchased (granted one of my most favorite functioning pieces I bought from them). I would recommend being hesitant on purchasing something from consignment. One of the firearms I purchased from them had an internal malfunction after taking it out on the range for the first time, still trying to find a gun smith to repair.

If you want THE BEST BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is the store for you! Would rather give my money to big box stores all day! Sorry not sorry. Kind of wish there was a half star rating.

If you’re here for simple business like test or transfer and you know what you’re doing, I would suggest you find another FFL with lower price and shorter waiting time. But those guys are very patient and helpful, so if you do have lots of questions, or simply wanna browse their inventory, it’s the right place to go.

BTW I waited for almost an hour on weekdays, I’m not in a hurry but it’s indeed kinda long.

I really like the guys at this shop and the way they run things. Compared to other shops, these guys are chill and easy going. They also don’t price gouge like some other places I’ve been to. I’ll keep coming back here for supplies/services and would highly recommend this place to others as well.

The guys are very knowledgeable! Ammo prices are super fair! Treated well! Also they offer training through some consultants I believe. Mark at Maverick Advanced Tactical super kewl dude and trainer! Good spot! Prices are fair on guns considering many other places I've been.
