Black Mountain Road Pet Clinic, San Diego CA

By far the best and most professional vet I’ve taken my lil Rocky man to:) He’s a little blind and doesn’t hear too well, but honestly he absolutely loved both the vet and nurse he interacted with. He’s an old soul and they treated him like family. Such a great spot, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a proper clinic to visit regularly. Rocky’s a little temperamental but really did love the staff, and the staff seemed to really love him as well.

Absolute best vet office I have ever been to. Super knowledgeable staff. Super reasonable. And they sincerely love my fur angels!

On the recommendation of a close friend I brought my new pup (mastiff/great dane to Black Mountain Road Pet Clinic a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the experience. Dr. Polo was great! He was so nice. He answered all the questions and gave me some really good guidance and suggestions. He is absolutely what we are looking for in a vet. My pup is a big guy so it was nice to see that Dr. Polo wasn't afraid of him.

Another plus of the clinic, they were on time with the appointment. The facility itself very clean (seems like they are currently undergoing a remodel) but nonetheless still feels like a vet's office - not all corporate like most clinics these days. I think we're going to be very happy here in the long run.

The entire team at Black Mountain is amazing! They are dedicated and caring in every avenue possible. They'll do what is right for you and your pet, not what will make them the most money (rare with most vet hospitals). I am forever grateful for their support in taking care of my German shepard baby. They went above and beyond multiple times, especially when they didn't have to. I will forever recommend them to the highest extent possible!

Very friendly doctor and staff. All of my questions and concerns were addressed and explained clearly. A detailed plan of care was decided on together. Instructions were explained and also given in writing which I appreciated. A follow-up call was made to me the next day to check on my pet. They are thorough, attentive and competitively priced. Highly recommended!

We recently paid a visit to Black Mountain Road Pet clinic and we’re beyond impressed! From a convenient location off the 56 FWY to the friendly staff and checkup from their veterinarian - they truly went above-and-beyond when it came to my new puppy. We couldn't be happier with their competitive prices also. Definitely will be returning soon!

Dr. Polo and the Black Mountain team are FANTASTIC. I have been coming here for years and the staff are always super professional and their service stellar. I go out of my way to drive here from the downtown San Diego area because of the service and professional touch. Worth the drive!

I have brought both dogs and cats to BMRPC. I’ve been with them for the better half of the last decade. I have shopped around, I’ve gotten second opinions, I’ve even gone to TJ for treatment. I have found on separate occasions the advice I was given from the Doctors at BMRPC was the best advice and overall I think I could have saved myself trouble and time and money if I went with their recommendations to begin with. I always do my due diligence when deciding on treatment, I would absolutely recommend BMRPC for any Dog OR Cat owner.

Dr Polo is the one of the best veterinarians I've ever had the pleasure of visiting! He's kind, attentive, instinctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took a lot of time to listen to my concerns and make my dog feel comfortable during my visit. I can't say enough good things about the entire team! Everyone from the vet techs to the front reception staff (Destiny) is professional, friendly and cares deeply about my experience and my pet's health. I will be coming back to Black Mountain for years to come and will highly recommend them to others!

I brought my German Shepard Max into Black Mountain Road Per Clinic, Max wasn't eating and I got concerned so I took him to see Dr. Polo, he was so personable, he made me feel at ease. I loved the services they provided and they were able to identify an infection and cure max! Definitely recommend going to this clinic!

Over the years in San Diego, I have tried a fair share of animal hospitals when I first got my dog. None of the veterinarians were really honest and just wanted to do unnecessary things to seemingly make more income. But when I tried the team at Black Mountain and met Dr Polo, he was fair, reasonable and cared about addressing my pups issues in a systematic manner without trying to inflate costs. I’ve found a new home with this team and look forward to them helping me and my pup out again in the future when needed

I love this vet office! I switched almost 2 years ago and I've been very satisfied. Their veterinarians are knowledgeable and listen to client's questions and concerns when dealing with a patient for any reason. I take my dogs here for everything from general checkups to yearly dentistry. They are great and treat every animal and their owners like family. Highly recommend them if you live in or around the Rancho Penasquitos area!

This is where our dog goes for his vet and medical needs. The vet got down on the floor and gave him so much love. He really likes the soul warming experience instead of the chaos of normally going to the vet. His entire check up was the veterinarian and I hanging out and talking. Really enjoyable visit!
