Airplane Blackbird Airpark reviews
10Came upon this place by accident. They were closed, but you can see so much just walking the fence line. Some of the greatest aircraft that will ever be built. Glad they are here safe for everyone to see.
I was looking for things to do while in Lancaster/Palmdale one weekend, and stumbled across this place on maps. I drove down and decided to check it out after some other errands I had to run, and it was well worth it. I spent an hour or two here, most of which was talking to the staff, volunteers, and veterans that were hanging out in the air conditioned gift shop. Needless to say, I loaded up on patches and coins before checking out the aircraft. Speaking of them, the static displays were well-kept and the park was clean. Definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you are an aircraft enthusiast.
Definitely worth a detour off the highway to see some one-of-a-kind planes. Visit the gift shop and talk to one of their volunteers. Definitely a lot of American plane history just at this little stop.
You can see awesome aviation history like the SR-71 enough said go check them out and have a good time.
Legends of action. Stand in awe of the achievements by the Skunks to build these magnificent machines.
I went to Blackbird Airpark on Christmas Eve, and although I checked maps before I went, the Maps show the open hours may be affected, but I decided to try, it is closed when I arrived.so, I just want to suggest reconsidering if it's really worth visiting for everyone who plans to visit blackbird airpark during holidays.you may end up with park closure during holidays when you get there.but I will definitely visit here again. It's really worth.
This visit was loved, I had tried to come several times and always closed but today we made it.although there was 97 degree sun, free entry and beautiful planes to see.if you are a fan of NASA this place is for you.and the gift shop a lot to buy from $4.99. Visit this place you won't regret it.
I am a huge fan of the SR-71 Blackbird. This outdoor museum showcases the SR-71A “Blackbird”, A-12 “Archangel”, U-2D “Dragon Lady” and D-21 Drone as well as J-58 Jet Engine, J-57 Jet Engine, and P-4 Fire Truck. The gift shop even had some items to purchase such as models, shirts and hats. One of the pilots of the SR-71 told me some stories while we visited I definitely recommend it for anyone who marvels at these flying machines.
Very nice little (free museum) supported by volunteers. 2xSR71’s and a drone plus other mystic jets. We have been told a former SR71 pilot was coming on sundays…. (Those guys are true pilots and heroes).
