Blackwell's Corner General Store reviews
15 Magical.
Stopped for a quick restroom break in the middle of nowhere on a long vacation drive. Nowhere in my wildest imagination did I expect to find what i did inside.
What a collection of novelties, hot sauces, jarred goods, your normal convenience store odds and ends, wine, liquor, a candy shoppe/bakery and most surprising of all, a 50’s diner that may as well be a Time Machine.
If you need to get gas, try and make it to this location, even if it’s a bit out of the way. It’ll slow down your travel as you’ll want to discover everything the store has to offer, but it is such a refreshing alternative to dirty truck stops and cookie cutter gas station convenience stores.
Great pit stop! Gas, restrooms, hand-made fruge varieties, pistachios varieties, a restaurant, all general store items. #notdogfriendly!
I thoroughly enjoyed coming to this wonderful gas station and general store! The local products were delightful and I brought home the yummy fudge for the family. We all enjoyed it! Now they just stopped there today on their trip! This is a fun place and I will definitely stop here and support this wonderful small business while in route from Los Angeles to the Bay Area!
It's a mix of a James Dean museum, a mini market, a restaurant open only during the week and a delicious sugary nuts candy shop, pricey but tasty.
Just visited for my first time. Workers and employees incredibly rude and not accommodating to customer needs. Without say, will not be returning. Was very excited to visit, and was tremendously let down. Dirty, smelly, and restroom half out of order. Do better.
I called to see if they had fried food on a Saturday. They said yeah. I went there and they had the fryer off. I went hungry the whole day. Thanks guys
Large selection of snacks for traveling, but prices were high for what you get. Lots of pickles and things that you may be can't find elsewhere.
The so-called "pistachio muffins" had approximately zero pistachio content. They were green dyed plain muffins with almond extract added. It was a cheap muffin at $2, Safeway quality, but I would have liked it if they hadn't lied about it. No ingredients were printed on the label which I think is illegal.
I'm not a fudge connoisseur. They had many different flavors of fudge and $16 per pound. It seemed good to me. I don't have anything for comparison.
I don't see the point of flavored almonds. Someone who likes them should try these and report on them. The raw almonds I buy at trader Joe's are delicious, and about the same price.
The employees were pleasant and helpful.
Great corner gas station with a store. They have pickled everything, get the pickled garlic or quail eggs
Really a very good place to take a rest, you can get fuel, food, delicious snacks and this is a historic place where the famous star James Dean made the last stop before die tragically. I absolutely recommend visit this place!
Blackwell's is a super place to take a break if you are traveling on the 46. They have clean restrooms, hot food at the counter, all kinds of snacks, "tourist" stuff, and much more. They make incredible salsas, jams, sauces, and other canned fruit. I recommend their boysenberry sauce drizzled over vanilla ice cream. Their harvested almonds and pistachios are seasoned just about any way you could hope for. And don't forget to visit the candy counter in the back. Try their fudges and other delicious homemade candies.
Nice place it’s very clean place. Big wide spaces for big trucks and rvs. I got here at 12: 15 am and only 2 trucks here. Employees were friendly. I highly recommend it.
Excellent sandwiches, tons of small batch homemade goods. High quality market, definitely recommended. Next time I'm in the area I'll be grabbing another pastrami roll
I made the mistake 1 night of eating like 20 fiber bars.they were so good. Anyways fast forward to the next day where im on the road, and all of a sudden i need a restroom bad and ASAP! Lost hills was still pretty far and if it wasnt for this place I would have had a very bad accident. Always stop by here great location to fill up, get some snacks, and of course use the restroom. I am forever grateful for their restroom.
This place sells a unique specialty: Pistachio Muffins. They are incredibly tasty with a rich moist pistachio flavor, and a super bright green color. The top of the muffin has some nice crisps to it. I always buy a bunch when passing by.
