Ordered a dining table (the 5ft Spring Table) from Blue Pocket and I could not be happier with it. The work is immaculate and the whole process, from ordering to delivery, was easy and seamless. I've already recommended Jorge to multiple friends.

Jorge is a friendly guy who makes great wooden tables and benches. He becomes pretty slow at responding after you place the order, which is really frustrating. But he delivered on time and the product was good. Hopefully he gets someone to manage communications for him because it's a shame that he's been running this business by himself for years and can't delegate this essential part to improve customer service.

We found Blue Pocket/Jorge through Craigslist last summer after purchasing a new home. We're gutting the entire house so were looking for an outdoor table we could eat and entertain at for the next couple of years while we work on the interior. We care for an elderly parent and needed a bar-height table to accommodate him for family meals, and after months of looking realized we were really looking at a custom table. Luckily we found Jorge, who makes just what we were looking for at a reasonable price. Not so luckily, we didn't check Yelp, and that was our first mistake.

My boyfriend discussed our needs at length with him before deciding on a table. We ordered an 8' long bar height table, two bar height benches and 2 bar stools in June 2020 and were told he was backed up and they'd be delivered in 4-6 weeks. We paid 50% down. 6 weeks came and went, we were still eating on our coffee table, and Jorge wasn't answering calls or texts.

After months of not hearing from him, Jorge delivered a table after dark on Thanksgiving. We were ecstatic because that meant we'd be able to eat together as a family for the first time in months. We paid the rest of our bill. Unfortunately the next morning we realized he'd delivered the wrong table; what we received was only 6' and standard height, not bar height. Only the 2 stools were correct. He promised to make it right and said he was backed up but he'd get us the right table ASAP.

In the meantime the outdoor dining table we received weathered badly while sitting outside. I didn't have a cover for it as it was the wrong size, and we assumed he'd be picking it up in a week or two. The table is rickety and all the finish that had been applied has now come off in the elements: not awesome for only a few months outdoors. It's been on our patio under a roof but had to move it several times to get it out of the way of construction, and it is not standing up well to that either.

He stopped returning my boyfriend's calls this May so I stepped in; he answered my call right away and was very apologetic. I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. He explained (months after delivering the wrong item) that the table we wanted could not be constructed of redwood (a wood he had suggested in the first place) because it was too large for so soft a wood. He also said the style could not be done at that scale. We talked options and he suggested a different style in Douglas fir, which I agreed to because, well, he had our money already and we were still eating on the coffee table. He offered a stain or scorch at no charge to make up for the mistakes, which I thought was nice. I hoped the scorching would allow it to better stand up to the elements. I asked him for a realistic, conservative delivery estimate so we could plan, and he said 2 weeks. You can guess how that went.

May 19 he offered me a delivery date for the following week. I told him I was open, but didn't hear back. Two weeks later, he accidentally phoned me when trying to call a different customer. A week later I nailed him down again and he gave me a delivery date for the following week, again apologizing profusely. The day before I hadn't heard from him so I called and texted to confirm a time: no response. Our delivery date has now come and gone and he's not answered calls or texts from either me or my boyfriend, and we have been trying to reach him daily. We're now over a year since we first ordered the table and are asking for a full refund and thanks to him refusing to take our calls, we're stuck going to PayPal for it.

Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere.

I contacted Blue Pocket to order the spring table with a faux live edge. I needed this built and delivered in one week which I paid extra for. Although it was delivered on time, everything else was a nightmare. First off, getting a hold of the guy took multiple calls, emails and text messages (from both me and my husband) - this should've been a sign for me. Anyhow, when the table arrived, I noticed that it wasn't the faux live edge. Additionally, while I fully acknowledge the material is reclaimed wood, some of the flaws on the top included glue and deep marks on it that could've been sanded. The lack of attention to detail was surprising considering the positive reviews. The owner said he'd change the table to the faux live edge as I had initially ordered and that didn't happen. That was April 29 and now we're at the end of June and still no response. He promised a date/time that the new table would be delivered and never showed up. I didn't want to write this because I know how difficult it is to own a small business, but as a paying customer, I expected common decency and respect and unfortunately, never received it.

A couple years ago we had Jorge build us a custom rustic farmhouse style table out of reclaimed wood. To this day we are still receiving compliments on it. It is an amazing centerpiece for our patio and looking back couldn't have made a better choice. If you are looking for custom handmade artisan quality furniture you definitely need to link with Jorge at Blue Pocket Studio! Fire craftsmanship!

We found Blue Pocket Studio and visited the shop in downtown LA. The reclaimed wood quality, craftsmanship, design flexibility, and affordability made it a no-brainer.

Jorge made the table + bench set first, and we loved it so much that we asked if he could do a custom console table next. Turned out perfectly.

Jorge is as kind as he is talented. Give him a call, you won’t regret it!

I ordered a custom dining table and bench and it came out better than I could have even imagined. It fits the space perfectly, the quality is impeccable and it honestly looks like a Crate & Barrel piece for a fraction of the cost. Highest recommendation!

I tried to order a bed frame from Jorge after my boyfriend and I had a dining bench made by him. We placed the order for the bed frame on February 25th. On the receipt it had a finish date of March 18th. Our dining bench took twice as long for him to make and deliver than he quoted so we anticipated a longer wait for our bed frame, however.when Jorge felt like responding to our calls and texts, he said over and over again that the bed was done, he was just putting the finishing touches on it and that he would deliver it the following week. The next week would transpire and he would then admit that he hadn’t even started but that he was going to and we would love it and he is really sorry and embarrassed. I kept convincing my boyfriend to let him finish it, even though he was incredibly frustrated that Jorge kept lying about even starting it! June rolls around, it’s now been three and a half months, still no bed frame AND we have to continue to reach out, beg him to just let us know if he is still making it and that we're ok about the delay, don’t worry, we just want our bed frame. Another round of him assuring us it would be done, then zero communication, then trying to just get a response or a hold of him. At the end of our effort to get the frame made and after no communication, I told Jorge, if you can’t make our bed frame, no problem, let us know, I’ll leave it up to you, no pressure. Jorge did not respond. After about a week, we ended up having to go to his shop downtown and ask for our deposit back. He admitted he hadn’t even started and said that he had done a headboard at one point but then used it for something else. He also said, I’m really sorry, I liked you guys. Isn't that irrelevant if you're trying to operate a business? I would avoid working with this person. He’s incredibly unprofessional and uncommunicative and dishonest. Such a headache.
