Was greeted immediately, even though I was there before opening, was in my loaner car and off in less then 15 minutes. Was notified of issues and was also notified that my car would take more than a day. Was then notified it was ready at 3PM and it was waiting out front when I got there at 3: 03. Briefly reviewed my bill online and was out of there in just a few minutes again. That was extremely easy!

My last experience with the service department was less than great. I brought my X3 in for recall service and asked that a couple of other items be looked at (cup holder, etc). This was not done and it appears that coffee was spilled on the floor.bummer

I've been doing business with this BMW dealership for over 30 years, and it's always been a good, honest resource. The price they charge for their work is fair, and I've ordered tons of parts over the years through them, without a problem.

I can't say enough about how great this place is for servicing your BMW. Started going here to service my 335i many years ago.the experience was so great that despite living within walking distance to Weatherford BMW I instead travel to San Rafael and it's worth it every time. Had them do all the servicing on my M340i from 2016-2019 and now bring my M4 there. They always get me a loaner quickly, service the car quickly, explain everything clearly, and detail the car upon return. I always see the same service manager (Robert) who is TOP NOTCH but I am sure they are all great!

May Update: Had to make this update to show a perfect example of how great this service department and my service advisor (Robert) really are. On a Thursday evening I started hearing a small noise going into 4th gear. I called them Friday morning to see how long the wait would be just to get my car in and get a loaner vehicle since transmission issues often take a while to diagnose. They told me bring my car right in so I didn't need to worry about driving it over the weekend and possibly having a breakdown and they would find a loaner for me one way or another despite the short notice. 30 min later I am there dropping my car and they have a new M340i waiting for me as a loaner car.
One week later they have installed a new transmission under warranty and I am back on the road as if nothing happened. Like I said, Top Notch!

Luis made buying a BMW easy from BMW of San Rafael. He made sure the car and myself were taken care of through the whole process. Answered all my question promptly whether over the phone or through text. Very satisfied with how everything went. Would definitely recommend.

I had a great experience with turning in my old lease (330i) and leasing a new car (X1). I want to commend three employees in particular. Hayat Saeed, the Business Manager, was very helpful and managed the transaction perfectly and safely- no small feat in COVID times. He was friendly and very responsive. I feel like I can call him at any time.
Rommel Flores, head of the tech genius department, was also invaluable in finding me the exact car I wanted from another location.
After i got the car, Josh Idell (Genius Bar) helped me with all the technology, He was friendly, fun and informative.

I had a WONDERFUL experience with the team at this dealership. I bought a new car last week during the SIP and considering the unusual circumstances of trying to buy a car while social distancing and wearing face masks, they were very professional and made buying a new car super easy. I worked with the Pre-Owned Manager, Mark Blackshere and he was terrific. I highly recommend this dealership the next time you buy the Ultimate Driving Machine.

I’m so grateful for BMW of San Rafael. This dealership is very organized and professional, they definitely take care of their customers. Tom, the service advisor is great and has helped me get any issues with my car sorted out quickly and stress free.

I regret buying my vehicle at another Bay Area BMW dealership as it’s been nothing short of a nightmare from the moment I bought the car to any of the times I brought it in for service/repairs. When it comes time for a trade in I will definitely be going to San Rafael!

I called the store back in November just to ask a few questions about there multiple leasing programs for the X1 and X2. I spoke with Jonathan (aka JJ). JJ explained the size difference and he had encouraged me to come in to test drive a few. I did my own research and decided that the X2 was the crossover that I was looking for. Fast forward to January. I wanted to go in so I could test drive the 2019 and 2020. But JJ was out of the office that day. That’s when I met Chip. Chip welcomed me into the BMW San Rafael. He asked me what I wanted and then he let me take the 2019 or 2020 for a spin. It was love at first sight. I fell in love with the car. I went back a week later. I received the same warm welcome from everyone. I spent about 4hrs because I did an extensive test drive (30mins), and he explained almost every feature that the cabin had to offer, and then the paperwork part. They have clean restrooms and an awesome espresso machine. After waiting, I finally drove off with my new 2019 X2 all white of course. They allowed me to store my 2015 328i there until I had the time to come pick it up. My husband and I went the next day to pickup the old car. I just moved to the north bay and this will be my BMW store. Love you guys and my new car. I would advise anyone to shop online first, have a few stock numbers ready to provide to guys, and go on a weekday.

If you want to pay top dollar buy here. If you want to wait weeks on end for a service appointment go here. I love the cars just disappointed this is the closest dealership

Service was okay, but very pricey. They charged me more for just looking at the car and estimating a high price for the repair than for the actual repair that I then had done at BMW of San Francisco.

Great service great people. I enjoyed the whole experience. And I have to say that I don’t enjoy buying the car buying experience at all. Rob is the go to guy if you want to buy

Before I begin I want to share some context: I distrust BMW service centres because one of them damaged my previous car. As the result the car was repurchased from me by BMW of NA, but my faith in the professionalism of service center personnel was lost. Regardless of this, I have decided to give BMW yet another chance (since I'm a fan) and purchased another vehicle of this brand (from this dealership).
The car I purchased had a defect: the rubber seal on the top right engine compartment cover was deformed (so a piece of it was visible from under the hood). However, the car was well stuffed and the price was appealing to me, so I decided to ignore this small issue (believing that it could be fixed under the terms of warranty). The day I picked the car from the dealership I placed an order for a spare part to fix the aforementioned issue. I was promised that it shouldn't take longer than a week to deliver the spare part to the dealership.
A week went, but no-one gave me a call. Thus I called to the dealership myself. This was the first time I was badly surprised: it took about 1 hour for the parts department to find my order. I had a strong feeling that the order I had placed got lost in the system. I was told that yet another week was required to deliver the spare part. I agreed and kept waiting.
In 5 days since then I got a notification that the spare part had come and it was time to schedule a service visit. So I contacted the service center. During the phone call I was asked what I wanted to be done - I explained and scheduled a visit.
I came to the dealership at the specified date and time. The first thing I heard from the service adviser was "What do you want us to do? " I was kinda confused: why didn't you put all this information on file at the time I was scheduling the visit? You actually asked me and I answered. Why do I have to define the scope of work multiple times? OK, I explained one more time.
The service adviser asked me to show what I called "top right engine compartment cover". This was unprofessional: I expect a service adviser to be tech-savvy. OK, no problem. Staying at the vehicle, I told the adviser that I expected them to replace all disposable plastic clips (that could be used for 1 time only) that held the cover in place. In response the adviser told me that it was up to a foreman to decide. OK, I asked to let me speak to this foreman. In response I heard "Not gonna happen". I asked why. The adviser responded that the service would replace only those clips which replacement would be paid by BMW. So I responded that I still wanted to talk to the foreman and explained my story, adding that I didn't want to loose yet another vehicle. But the adviser only acknowledged that and kept saying "Not gonna happen".
BMW of San Rafael, do you really think that arguing with a customer helps to establish a trustful relationship? FYI, I didn't mind to pay for that disposable plastic clips if that was the only problem. But no-one gave me this option.
OK, let's get going. I gave up arguing with the adviser and I asked if it was possible to have a look at the spare part. The answer was positive. In few minutes the adviser showed me the spare part; that was yet another surprise - the part was even more defective than the one installed on my vehicle (the rubber seal was completely deformed). Thought through, I decided to give up on the idea to replace this compartment cover at all. Furthermore, I felt lucky that I asked to see this spare part. If not this request, the service would have replaced my compartment cover with one in a worse condition. This, from my perspective, was also unprofessional. My question is why do I need a service adviser if I have to do one's job myself?
To sum up, BMW of San Rafael, I don't see any difference between you and the service center that damaged my previous vehicle.

[UPD: 10/09/2019] Moreover, the right passenger side mirror again gets stuck at the very bottom position (the problem that was also supposed to be fixed during that visit). The fix worked for 4 days only.

Kudos to the BMW Genius team and Parts team!
I bought my BMW of X3 M40i at this dealership. I could not be happier with the car. The process was smooth, walked in the morning empty handed, came out in the afternoon with a car.
Now I go to this dealership every so often to either buy parts or for an event (e.g. M-town, etc).
Special kudos goes to Artem M.and Rommel F.from the Genius team, they always greet me by name and are up for a quick chat.
Same for Tommy R.and Ken G.from parts. Well informed and ready to help. Tommy is from Peru just like me!
Finally, special mention to Jackie at the cash register.

Note: I cannot comment on the service side of this dealership since I live in SF and coming here for service is too far.
