Boiling Point reviews
18Good is very stale, wait is extremely long, bad customer service. I also found a hair in my food. Would not recommend; wasted our time and money.
We went there last thursday, the lady told us to wait 20mins, after that 20mins again, after that a guy wanted us to wait another 40mins.
I am from north CA, only visited south CA for 3 days, I wont go to boiling point anymore
Their food is good and all, it’s just frustrating when I come here at noon then get told that they don’t offer dine in before 4: 30, hopefully the picture can save others who wanted dine in some time
My friend absolutely raves about this place, putting it in a category of its own, so we decided to come check it out together. I had the Tonkotsu Miso, and she had the Taiwanese Spicy. Mine, I requested it with the lowest spicy level and it was manageable. Hers came only with the highest spicy option, but she enjoyed it. Overall, a great place for Hot Pot lovers in general. 100% recommended.
The house special is a solid go to. I also really like the beef flavor. I go for a medium to hot spice level. Don't go higher than 3 stars for hot unless you are a true chili head.
I post these 'time lapse' pictures so you know what to expect. At first, it seems like a very thin dish, but actually it is a wok, not that thin. The food was good. The AC was on, which made the burner heat very unnoticeable.
Terrible customer service. First of all, their phone ordering system does not work. I called about 30 times over a half hour period, and no one picked up my phone. I then had to order on GrubHub for my order to go through, and I wanted to get boiling point rewards for my order, but they wouldn’t let me because it was ordered through GrubHub and their policy was to not track rewards for GrubHub orders. Even after I explained my situation to the workers and asked for the manager, they were not apologetic at all and rather just dismissed my frustrations. I understand it’s policy, but at least try to understand my situation. Also they never sent me a notification that my food was ready. Used to come here often, but now will never come back.
Food is good for one person, meat is a bit small in amount unless you add extra. The hotpot I'd go to when there's no companion.
The food is literally so good but they really need to work on how to keep customers in line before they open. It’s always chaotic. And please get customers seated as your priority, what’s the point of asking your customers to be standing outside waiting in the heat when 80% your seats are still empty.
Good place for soups. Not the best soup but still very good. Line is a bit long, around 30 mins wait time @5pm. Friendly staff.
Great place for pre-made hot pot. As of May 2021, get here super early and check-in on their waitlist. Their waitlist closed at 6: 00 PM on Saturday and on weekdays it’s closed well before 7 PM.
ON WAITING LIST FOR 1.5 HOURS TO BE TOLD RIGHT BEFORE CLOSING THERE IS NO ROOM FOR US TO BE SEATED. TERRIBLE WAITING LIST SYSTEM! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A BAD REGARD FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS TIME. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN.
I went today @this place, it was my first time here, the person in front was so nice at me, I told him that was my first time in this place, he kindly recomend me, the most popular dishes, food was delicious and price affordable.
But for me customers service makes the difference! Very good experience!
I be back for sure! I chose #4
I usually get their lunch combo. It comes with the main hotpot, vermicelli or rice, and a cup of black or green tea. Worth the price.
It is hard to imagine how to have hotpot to-go but Boiling Point did it very well. They packed everything separately. They even give you 3 different dipping sauces in separate containers. The portion is big. The mushroom and veggie hotpot can serve for 2 ppl. I usually also add in enoki mushroom, deep fried tofu skin and broccoli when I serve it at home. The soup base for the vegetarian is so delicious and sweet, full of flavor.
You can place your order in person or on the phone. At the moment you cannot place order online.
It never disappoints no matter where the restaurant is located at.
I've been a LONG TIME loyal customer of boiling point. I visited Pasadena location for years, then I used to go to Artesia, and now I'm going to Irvine. The flavor remains the same. Great customer service. The only observation I have is how complicated is to place an order for pick up over the phone. The reason why is because THEY NEVER ANSWER the phone and unfortunately they don't longer take online orders. What a boomer so I'm forced to drive all the way to the restaurant from Mission Viejo to place the order in person and wait there 25 minutes for my food. Can you guys make it a little bit easier for me PLEASE? LOL
Besides that, everything is great. Plenty of parking lot. The restaurant always seems to be busy when many other restaurants are hit by the pandemic, good for them.
I am a food service delivery person, and tonight was the THIRD tine I arrived without food being ready. I waited 15 minutes before walking out. I lost money because of this. And workers here aren't sanitary. They wear masks, but two of them had their noses uncovered.
Dude. Not to mention the usual unpleasant attitude of their hostess/operator, their number just STOPPED WORKING. What the hack man? If you are gonna dine in, prepare to wait for HOURS. If you wanna order carry out, no one would answer the phone. Good luck with eating here.
I'm here from out of town, and I'm loving the time I spend at Town Square Coffeehouse. Awesome space, delicious food, amazing coffee and non-coffee options (I'm digging the mulled wine), and the best people!
