Bonita Falls reviews
16NO PARKING near Hidden Acres due to construction. Future parking lot & restroom to be completed mid 2024.
This waterfall is so beautiful. You need to walk about 3 miles to get there, and you need to prepare a lot of drinking water and hiking shoes.
The only drawback is that there are all kinds of graffiti along the way.
Today I visited this place, it is an unforgettable experience, there is a lot of water but it is very cold.
Mile an a half hike will get you to this magical place once you reach the fall it will take you’re breath away be sure yo leave early it gets packed
There is plenty of parking space within the road. The hike will depend how far you park. I parked closer towards the gps.

What to expect:
Some parking spaces on the street
Bring good hiking shoes
Bring some water
Bring some mosquito repellent
Bring sun screen
Bring extra clothes if you expect to jump or get wet in the waterfalls
Plenty of rocks.
Beautiful scenery
The hike will depend on the route you take, it can take up to 1.7 miles there and back or you can park where I parked at. The route I took was about 3 miles there and back.
If you like what you see, please like and follow. We will be posting hiking adventures to waterfalls.
I parked where it says on the maps Pic nic pretty failures I crossed the bridge to end up on the other side of the River, I walked along the stones, take good shoes, avoid tennis shoes that slip and avoid wearing pajamas and don't make a fool of yourself, YOUR PET WITH BELT! 2km very easy for beginners! 30 mins round trip and 30 mins return 4km total
Adventurous yet rewarding. Grippy footwear for some slippery rocks near the falls and medium boulders. Ankles can bend a bit. 80% sun exposure and good workout depending on your pace/ability. The "Esquite" and fruit lady refuel was the best i've tried compared to many fairs.
People should be more aware, grate the stones so that the landscape looks horrible, please don't do it
Bonita falls, is truly as beautiful as it's name! Such an amazing weekend happy camper with my
Excellent place to walk. Just don't let people pass by with paintings, because many stones are scratched senselessly, they ruin nature.
This time I did not reach the waterfall or the small natural waterfall, due to the rain, but the river is very beautiful and the water is very transparent, in part of the river you can see stones vandalized with graphite and beer bottles and garbage waste Very bad for the people who are not aware of the deterioration of the natural environment and the beauty of the place, in many places for those reasons they put guards, we should be more aware or even that freedom of going to live with that type of nature is lost on us. They are going to ban as time goes by!
With the recent rains, the waterfall is beautiful and powerful. The creek is flowing and glowing in emerald.
The trail is a bit rocky, but doable. It’s about 3 miles round trip. A walking stick will be helpful. For the most part, the trail is flat until you start to hike into the canyon to reach the waterfall. Parking is available on the street.
Arrive early to avoid the crowds.
Remember to leave no trace and properly dispose of waste.
It would be 5 stars but lowlife types spray painted everything in sight and always leave trash there.
A word of advice, there is a lot of poison oak there so a good thing to bring is a bar of soap or something that can wash the plants oils off as soon as you come into contact with it. I learned the hard way the first time there back in the 80s. It was a nightmare. Just a FYI, try to find the old entrance of the mine that someone started long ago. It doesn't go in very far but the history is cool. I'm researching what prospect it is currently. Hint: it's on the east side of the canyon.
It's a hike to get there so pack plenty of water and just to be safe, don't go it alone. Once you get there, it's so worth the mile hike up that rock.it's quite majestic if it wasn't for all the graffiti. It's majestic to say the least.
The trail to get here is very rocky and treacherous, once you get to the foothill be mindful of broken glass. The area must have been beautiful before the IE population exploded, it being one of the only hikes in the area has really caused this place to be littered with trash, coated with graffiti, and crowded. Once you make it to the falls it is very pretty, but it's hard to enjoy due to the congestion of people.
