I learned to ski and snowboard here. It's a great learning spot that is on the cheaper side when comparing to other ski resorts.

Not a bad place. I had 4 season passes for my family + rental passes [+$1700 value].
Front desk / Customer Service very rude, said I was liying when asked them about rental pass price, and look like they don't care about you.
Rental team is awesome, not super fast but friendly. I'll take my business somewhere else and won't come back for next season.

Hit Woodward Tahoe for a couple hour session as we were rolling through town. Things were a little chaotic with all the camp kids; I would recommend arrival after 4: 30 when all the camps are over. Great range of stuff to do with Bunker Pass. Staff was friendly and helpful but a bit overwhelmed with all the kids rolling through.

I purchased a night pass (valid 3PM - close) in Oct 2020. When I made the purchase, the website clearly stated that the pass could be upgraded to a full day pass at any time. But when I tried to do that in Dec 2020 I was told that I wasn't allowed to. In fact, I was even told that upgrades had *never* been allowed and that I couldn't have read that. I sent a cached image of their site, but they still wouldn't honor an upgrade. Then in Jan 2021, I tried to see if there was a way I could pay extra to be able to start skiing at 2PM. The manager told me no, there was no possible way except for me to buy a regular go-time ticket for 2PM, and that if I wanted to ski before 2 I should have done my research better before I bought anything. Then he added "no refunds" even though I didn't ever indicate I wanted one. Based on this alone I would have given 0 stars, but the rental guys were awesome. They were always pleasant, quick, and willing to answer all my questions.

Nice small mountain that's right on the side of the freeway easy to access. Wish they had more food options and more outdoor dinning space since everything inside is closed due to covid. Kiosk to scan barcode to dispense cards for lifts.

As their signs state, "better to ski than stay quarantined. " Masks and gloves are required, but still a wonderful experience.

We've been a couple times now for my daughter to try skiing and snowboarding. Both times she had lessons for each and the instructors were great, and her lessons included her all day lift ticket which was nice. It hasn't been too crowded and during COVID we just had lunch tailgating at our cars. I'm not an expert snowboarder so I stay to the easier trails and they're perfect for my level of experience.

So I used to love Boreal as a skier. As a grandparent, I took my 12 year-old grandson a few weeks ago to go to the tubing area. He liked it but here is what I found. For tubing, the signage was non-existent. We founding it by walking to the end of the enormous parking lot. The kids didn't mind but I did. Once we got the kids in line there was absolutely no place for the adults to wait while the kids slid down the hill for 90 minutes. We stood in the freezing snow which was cold even in winter garments and layers. I'm no kid anymore so this was difficult. You know, you really don't want to just leave your kids. I finally resorted to sitting in the car. At least our grandson was with our 14 year old great niece. I felt a little safer with two kids together but I'll bet not everyone can get a buddy to go. The cost, I thought, was outrageous at $49 for 90 minutes PER KID. The attendant arrived close to the starting time but a couple of minutes late and some of the kids were itching to get started and he called out, "Don't worry. You will get your money's worth. " I read that lift tickets that day were $25. So the kids had fun but as a senior citizen, I found this experience left much to be desired. I think this is important for Boreal to consider because the older folks are paying for the grandkids to have fun (or parents paying for the kids). I hope someone reads this and at least Boreal could install benches with some sort of cover or protective area.

Absolute waste of money. I took my family here for some sledding and it was disorganized, overpacked, and above all, dangerous. The lanes weren't well maintained, the top of one lane had been worn down to the point where sledders were going over the divider into the other lane. I saw one child almost get hit by a sledder, the parent barely was able to grab them in time. All of this, and they had just one worker up top in charge of everything. Just sitting on his phone. What a rip off of 50 bucks per person.

Cool place. Closest to those driving from the west side of the state compared to other resorts. Its also the cheapest. With that you get a more limited selection of runs. But as a quick day trip resort, it does great

A small resort without a huge elevation gain. The face of the mountain is mostly blue and black runs and heavily favors snowboarders. All but one of the green runs involved some cross-country skiing. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Bonus points if you're driving a Subaru as you get your own special parking up front and they will give your kids lots of swag.

This review is for Molly in the Pro shop. I broke a binding strap and she saved the day! She went above and beyond to get me back on the mountain, THANK YOU!

This might be the funnest place to snowboard in all of California. Always have a blast here and I have so many good memories of this place. Definitely recommend it.

Perfect spot for a quick weekend snowboarding trip. Great for beginners and their friends, who might want to hit the park. For was pretty decent and the prices were not bad. We will definitely be considering season passes next year.

No lines, contact free, the food is good (I was surprised, the burger yummy), great slopes, easy access!
My only comment. Restrooms were not clean.

I totally loved coming here! It was very affordable and we had a lot of fun! The whole place is very beautiful and the staff was friendly and diligent. The lifts are great and the routes as well! Totally recommendable for beginners with a tight budget. The only thing I didn't like was the bathrooms! They were terribly dirty and they did not have toilet paper! So please, be mindful and bring your own supplies and just don't expect a 5 star bathroom, they were very terrible. Even though, the fun the experience, the environment and everything else was perfect. Although, to be honest, the bathrooms were a big disappointment.

One of my favorite places to ride for a good park day.

I know the resort is small, but theres plenty of room to have a fun day anytime I attend. If they have been working on their park, as well as have lost dutchman and cedar open. I love to come here with friends and we always have a great time. Theres a sense of community at Boreal thats hard to get at most other resorts in the Tahoe area. Perfect place to learn skiing or snowboarding, and a great place to improve your skills in the Terrain Park. I come back here each and every year. Only complaint is that they really don't open all the lifts too often. Might be a staffing probem since the summit usually has plenty of snow. Still love it nonetheless.
