Bowman Campground reviews
6The roads not a joke and requires 4wd with decent ground clearance. Once you're there it's a beautiful remote area but full of so many people so you're bound to get some loud neighbors and annoying music blaring at night.
My Toyota Highlander could not make it all the way up Bowman Lake rd, it is extremely rough. Truck or high clearance vehicle is 100% needed or pick a new campground.
Crazy busy! So full of people that someone put a tent in the main walk way people leaving trash in bear boxes going down hill face.
No matter which way you come in the trip is always beautiful! The lake is crystal clear but pretty cold due to the water being snow melt. There are plenty of places to camp but rember not to drive fast on the dirt roads so you dont dust out the campers and dont cause an accident on the narrow turns. Be aware! Rattlesnakes are in the area! First time seeing one in the many years I have been coming here but they are around. Amazing wildlife! Deer, geese, ducks, snakes, and if your lucky.bears! Definatly one of my all time favorite places to escape to.
Great place to be with family, beside the road everything else is great
Please come around the long way past truckee. The shorter way roads are terrible.
