Brainy Actz Escape Rooms -Temecula

Took my son to his first escape room for his birthday and we had so much fun! Lucas was an awesome host/narrator! Now my son wants to go back and do them all! Thanks Lucas!

My least favorite of all escape rooms that I've done thus far.
1. The Temecula location is in what appears to be an apartment building, and has zero signs stating that Brainy Actz is located inside. This leads to confusion and wasted time. If this is your first time going, give yourself extra time.
2. The door to the location locks after 7pm, and you have to call so someone can come let you in. This is written or a small piece of paper and taped to the outer most door. In reference to #1, this piece of paper is not visible from the car or the parking lot. One must walk up to the door to see it.
3. They did not provide a locker for purses. Just took our cell phones and locked them in a box.
4. The escape room we did (The Legacy) was literally one, single room. Other companies typically have you transition through at least a couple of smaller rooms as you move through the game. I'm not sure how 10 people would work in this one (that is the max they have listed for this room).
5. The riddles were very poorly designed. I've done many escape rooms and these riddles were not well-thought-out.
6. One of the locks wouldn't unlock even though we had the right combo. The attendant finally came in to do it and stated "Yeah, it sticks sometimes" after we've wasted at least 10 minutes of game time on that lock.
7. There is no loud speaker for hints like other escape rooms with other companies. They give you a walkie-talkie. When or if you get a hint, you have to make sure all members are near to hear it. The attendant also wasn't always quick to respond, delaying our progress.
8. The attendant gave us incorrect and/or unclear information in a "hint" that had us going down a rabbit hole (wasting more time) for nothing. It took us asking AGAIN to get her to restate and correct herself. Not sure what the issue was but that's not acceptable.
9. Some of the markings that were required for a riddle were old and worn out, thus when we found the object to decode the markings, it was still exceptionally difficult to make out the numbers. The correct numbers were crucial as they were part of an equation. My daughter and I sat there doing the equation over and over again, trying different possible numbers even though once decoded, we should have been able to tell what the correct digit was! More wasted time.
10. The grand finale didn't present the way it should have.suitcase filled with money didn't pop open for that "wow" effect, and we were confused as to whether this was another puzzle until the attendant came in and said "oh I don't know why it didn't open. "
11. No offer to take our group picture with some of the props.
Ultimately, I do not recommend this place. It was approximately $125 for the 3 of us to leave irritated and disappointed. Try one of the other escape room companies in the area. They are so much better!

So much fun! We came up from Encinitas for a buddy’s birthday and had a blast. Excellent staff, especially Connor the manager. He was super patient with us and made the experience wonderful! Thank you for letting us play around your awesome shoppe. I’ll be telling everyone how cool this was!

Very unprofessional. The magnetic lock releases were not working, the kids operating the game were not responding to clue requests, and even through they had cameras to watch and know what we’re doing and where we were at in the puzzle, they kept giving us clues we had already accomplished.

My son and I had a horrible experience and left more frustrated and passed off then anything

I will be calling their main office tomorrow to complain about the experience. I never had a bad time like this at MIND TRAP - their equipment worked and their people were on top of the players (via camera) offering assistance at the drop of a hat

Save your money, go to a professionally run company

The escape room.let's be nice, and say. "left some more to be desired". Not what I expected, and "less than great". The help was "milktoast" at best.strange location.not great signage.you'll probably have to call them, to find it.we did.

Just did the smugglers escape room, for how much you pay they should have atleast one person designated to watching your game. We had to ask for multiple hints because the guy didn’t know where we were at in the room, We lost about 20 min because of that. The room was dirty, a lot of the drawers opened up before we needed them/ without all the things we needed to open it. The whole thing was very confusing and wasn’t executed very well. We have been to multiple escape rooms and this was the worst.

Fun experience but definitely a little tricky when some stuff doesn't really help out. But overall a good time

We went for an 8 yr old party. Excellent choice. My daughter had a great time with her classmates.

Me and my husband did the paint splatter room and we had SOOOO MUCH FUN! Really was a great way to get out some much needed silliness and we felt like two little kids throwing paint everywhere. So much fun. He told us next time we come we could even bring our two year old and wouldn't charge for her since she's only 2.we made the coolest paintings and can't wait to go pick them up once they dry! Highly recommend doing the splatter room

Me and my friends had a great time Chloe was amazing and super friendly and kind. Best first experience with an escape room, can’t wait to do another!

It was a great time. Loved the challenge and looking forward to doing another one. Jordan is a great host!

Honestly, it was a disappointing experience. We had reservations for the rage room, it was $40 a person. When we arrived and we were taken into the room, the whole room was already destroyed. It had tons of scrap metal up to our knees all over the floor, and I would say no more than 20- 8 ounce glasses. 10 were placed on a counter and the other ones were placed on the floor next to all of the already destroyed products. We broke the glass within two minutes. After that there was nothing much to do besides hit the scrap metal and trash on the floor. What was advertised on the website, it’s not what we got. When we told the worker, this is not what we expected, her response was simply that they have been extra busy. Then offered us waters… We were in the room for less then 10 minutes and we left because we had nothing to do besides hit trash on the floor with a bat… This is what I came to do for my 35th birthday, as I wanted to do something on my bucket list. Needless to say I need to find another location to do this because it was not at all what a rage room should’ve been. Sorry for the bad review, but I hope you take what I say as a constructive criticism and fix the problems with your rage room. Thank you!

Rage room needs work big time. We expected more, If im paying $160 for 4 people, there had better be some new stuff to smash. The room was destroyed from previous rages. Just old tires and smashed sheet metal. Plus it should be big enough for 4 people if I'm booking the room for 4 people.

Had an amazing time I would definitely recommend it. The host was really great. The outside is deceiving but nun the less; the inside is where it's really at! Definitely coming back soon!

I love everything about this place. We’ve done the escape rooms, axe throwing, and glow-paint.

Took a group of teenagers for their first Escape room experience and they had a great time. Connor was very accommodating and provided superb customer service. Will definitely come back for another event! Thank you!
