Brigantine Seafood Restaurant reviews
21 Girlfriend and I came in for dinner, restaurant was pretty empty, I asked if we could get a window seat, or if they were reserved. The hostess said they were reserved, but it rubbed me the wrong way because I feel like most of the spots were empty and she was too lazy to accommodate. Other than this, the waitress/hostesses were nice.
The food was pretty average. We ordered halibut and jumbo shrimp. Each of these entrees were around $30, but the quantity was pretty lacking - 4 pieces of shrimp, and no additional carb with the halibut. The side veggies on the halibut seemed like frozen veggies/chopped up frozen sausage as well.
Perhaps my expectations were too high for the restaurant rated so well on Google, and perhaps there were staff shortages or food quality issues, but I really didn't think the food or service we got justified the price point.
The restaurant was clean and the staff were wonderful. The food was amazing up until I bit into what looked like a staple in my mashed potatoes. I was very disappointed. The manager came out, apologized, and promised that they were looking into how that piece of metal ended up on my plate. They comp'ed my plate and an appetizer; however, I was unable to enjoy the rest of my dining experience.
Dish presentation was 2 stars, Halibut was battered or coated but without flavor and 4 little asparagus pieces, no garnish.something you might get in a lesser restaurant. BRIGANTINE you missed the boat with my dinner tonight.
What an incredible staff! We had a birthday celebration for 12, the entire evening was perfect from the minute we arrived! Large dinners normally chaotic & nerve wracking, the staff was relaxed, anticipated ALL we needed, and were so very nice to everyone! Food was absolutely delicious!
Made reservations on Open Table with notes to the staff & they actually took care of table size arrangements before we arrived! WOW! 10 stars! Thank you!
Traditional seafood restaurant and dated decor. The food itself was average. The strong flavors of the seasoning and sauce masked the natural flavors of the food. The place was mostly empty around 11: 30 and service was quick. The experience was fine but not special.
Caroline is a wonderful server! The food was delicious and the customer was on point! Thank you!
Small plates were definitely small. Our table was right next to the kitchen and it was noisy so hard to carry on a conversation with others at the table. Food was very good. Next time I'll ask for a table away from the kitchen. Just too busy of a spot to really enjoy our dinner. Didn't stay for dessert as a result.
Just had a great dining experience at the Shelter Island Brig. Our server, Kaitlyn, was exceptional and we highly recommend her. We were also greeted by Mike, the manager who was equally accommodating. If you're looking for a warm and friendly atmosphere with great "comfort seafood", great Brigantine salad and delicious clam chowder.this is the place.
Definitely not the caliber food of Years ago. The staff was very nice but still Disappointed in food size and quality.
But hey everything these days is a challenge.
I've been here 3x to have oyster during happy hour.i like the atmosphere but oysters suck, compare to kingfish on mission valley & blue water on coronado. The oysters in those 2 places are meaty, sweeter & medium size. I stop coming at harbor drive location during happy hour. Point loma brigantine oysters is comparable to kingfish & bluewater restaurants.
This is good stuff! Excellent seafood and steak! High quality! The bartender was not messing around with our drinks! Made them powerful! Loved it!
One of our favorite places to go in Point Loma. Happy hour specials are great and the service is even better.
The food here was outstanding! I had the swordfish with risotto and broccolini. My sister had the parmesan sourdough crusted halibut with fingerling potatoes, kale, and chorizo. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, as was our crab and shrimp fondue appetizer! I loved the ambiance as well and the staff were welcoming. I recommend this place and will be back.
It's was great. Ate dinner with my family. Had salad, brocolli, and sword fish. Had a margarita. Had a great time.
Great service and food. Gives you that old school fine dining feel without all the pretentiousness.
The Oysters were incredible. And I also really enjoyed the crab and lobster fondue with garlic bread chips.
Great place to pop into their oyster bar to get some good deals on bar bites and apps if you're looking for seafood.
The line at Mitch's Seafood wasn't moving and the wait at Ketch was nearly and hour. Got seated immediately here at the Brig, same company as Ketch. Sat inside, more of an old school vibe with the decor and set up.
Food was good, did it tapas style.got the calamari strips (yummy seasoning, thick cut and fun breading), shrimp cocktail was refreshing, crab cake was generous, fish and chips were light and crispy. Bonus add on was the lobster tempura battered tacos on blue corn tortillas with truffle fries, a fun addition to top off some classics.
Will have to come.back for Wine Wednesday, half off bottles. They've got some good Paso wine on their menu.
Celebrating my best friend's bday. Restaurant was quite busy but food was delicious! Highly recommend! Would be great for a romantic evening!
Food was expensive and didn't taste good, portions were small, and considering how much we spent the service was awful.
Great location in Point Loma Rockefeller oysters are disgusting and the raw oysters where fishy. I like
Oysters a lot and this place has it in there name and that’s why the expectation was high the clam chowder was not bad and the service was good food so so
