Brockton Villa reviews
14What a delightful way to start your morning! Staff was super friendly. Fred, our server, gave great recommendations, was sincere and genuine with his service. The host was always smiling and efficient with seating. The busser was clearing tables instantly. We enjoyed the carnitas chilequiles, the bananas French toast, the breakfast burrito, and a bowl of tropical fruit. Thank you for taking great care of your guests.
Service staff was friendly and the view was great. Unfortunately, the latte macchiato I ordered had nothing in common with a real latte.
A view, with food! A very tasty food! Extremely polite staff. Thank you for a great dinner!
Always a fantastic place for breakfast and brunch. Great views and and awesome service. Make a reservation before you go. Food is always top notch.
Really want to like this place. Good food, good service. But the smell from the adjacent beach is unbearable. As we approached the smell was pretty strong but came and went, against my better judgement we went in and ate. It was impossible to enjoy the food with the constant smell. I wished we had g9ne somewhere else.
Lovely old place directly overseeing the La Jolla beach with a wonderful view. Great service and delicious food with a good selection. My reason for the 4 star rating was that the picture on the website is misleading and does not (in my opinion) represent the actual interior. We sat in a narrow balcony in a tight little table. You could see the age of the building even though it was very clean and maintained. We arrived at 8: 30 for Breakfast and it got busy by 9: am. As I said the food was delicious and service was attentive and professional. If you like a strong cup of coffee then this is your place.
We order steak doneness medium
Burnt on the outside, burnt to the taste
not delicious
But the sauce is basil pesto and it's good
The side dish is garlic potato
Seafood soup is not bad
it tastes like curry
Cheese Tomato Bread
very fragrant and delicious
But the salt is not spread evenly
Eat a lump of salt
In the end it was hard to find a waiter
Maybe because we were put in the corner?
Came here to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary because the food looked good and the beautiful view.
My husband called ahead to make sure we got a table upstairs to watch the sunset.
We arrive and were seated right away in the area requested which was great. And then our server arrived. Not only did she act like we were inconveniencing her the whole time, she actually rolled her eyes when I asked for just another minute to look at the menu. We repeatedly thanked her whenever she brought something to the table with absolutely no response. To top it off, at the end of the meal she "accidentally" charged us for another table's items and we had come back in to have the manager fix that for us (still pending on if that will go through). He was very nice and double checked that everything was correct after that.
The food was fine and the view was beautiful, but honestly the server ruined the experience and made our special dinner a bit disappointing. We won't be back.
Had a most sublime brunch here with some beloved relatives. Looking forward to visiting again with some other family members in the near future. Our server was a total doll. Excellent experience, would do again anytime.
Their location is a prime spot with a BEAUTIFUL ocean view! And they're prices were reasonable. The service is a top ten, border line eleven! William killed it with his efforts in taking care of us, he was very attentive. Thank you William for making our 25th anniversary extra special! We'll be back!
Brockton villa is my favorite brunch place in la jolla! The location is simply amazing and the food is delicious.seeing the sea lions in the cove is always a hit
Very nice ocean side restaurant with a view! I had the berry Coast Toast. The food was honestly just okay for me, but the service was really good and the view was nice the area generally smells a bit because of the sea lions but it wasn't terrible. We also got the best table in the restaurant
My spouse and I came for lunch early in the week. We had walked from our condo, so parking wasn't an issue for us. We didn't have reservations.but were told in 45min.a table outside by the rail would be available. That was fine by us. Once seated the higher up ocean view, and sea breeze was wonderful.except for the pungent 'smells of nature and sea lions'.
I got the burger. It was Ok. I only wish it came with fries, tater tots, onion ring.something other than salad greens. You could add a cup of chowder in lieu of salad for $4.which I did. It was very good. We also 'splurged' and had watermelon cucumber margaritas and split a coast toast with ice cream with coffee for desert. They were delicious!
Service was wonderful and we didn't feel rushed.
