Pretty good spot for breakfast. Restaurant seemed a bit understaffed but the staff that was there was very friendly. Got the Golden Gate eggs Benedict. Wanted to try the chai but they were out so I settled for a coffee.

Unfortunately the food wasn't super great. I did pick up and waited a while for my food even after my pickup time, and received my food cold. The Mexican breakfast options weren't very authentic and seemed a little too "Westernized". For the expensive prices, I'd go elsewhere next time.

Went for breakfast. Food was excellent! They have a lot of amazing and interesting choices. The service, however, was not what I expected. I've had better service at Denny's! The host seemed very disinterested with us and eventually did us the favor of sitting us down. My coffee cup went empty twice and had to keep asking for more creamer. I don't care that the food is expensive but you should have great service - no matter what. Just my 2 cents.

Decided to bring the family for a late Sunday morning brunch. The wait was 35 minutes.
Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately the service was slow, took 15 minutes before our server arrived. I understand it was busy, but our order took 40 minutes to arrive. Our meals were not complicated (Eggs Benedict, French toast, Denver omelette and Club sandwich).
Nothing special as far as the food, everyone enjoyed their meals. But because it was so busy, two orders were incorrect. Wrong fries, and my wife never received her toast.
Overall, I will pass on returning.

Expected better. Visited this place on Saturday morning around 10am. Had to wait around 25 minutes to be seated (for a party of four). When looking at the menu, the food and drinks looked fantastic. However, the food was flavorless and the service was slow. Given the expensive cost of the menu items and the wait time, I was left expecting more….

Meh. Food is tasty, but service could be better. Ordered toast as a late add-on, but never got it and grew tired of asking. Staff seems overwhelmed.

The food is fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced. The portions are good and the place is very clean. Courtney the server is amazing. She is sincerely friendly and makes our visits an absolute pleasure.

Everything well portioned as expected for the prices. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that what elevates the experience even more is when the service is also top notch. So with that being said our server was exceptionally good at her job too bad I couldn't catch her name, was too tipsy from the mimosas.

Great service and a great breakfast! Drink were wonderful as well! Definitely recommended. I wish they didn't have soap operas on the TV, but I didn't let that bother me, lol. Thanks

Was there this afternoon for my daughter's graduation. We were seated pretty quickly, party of 9, and our server Jennifer was Amaaziiing! Very patient, very attentive, and for being as busy as they were, she handled our table perfectly! Not to mention, the food is always great! Thank you Jennifer for making a special day even better!

Trendy Orange County Vibe and County Prices. Food is breakfast, how many different ways can you serve an egg? How much do you really want to pay for avocado toast just so you can say you been to the "Broken Yolk Cafe". Save your money and enjoy your loved ones at home. People it is just an "egg" it is just "avocado toast" you are paying for atmosphere, you are paying for a server, for someone to wash your dish is it worth it?

We went New Year's day after 1pm hoping it would be quiet. They were very very busy. I had called ahead, which they will accept 30 mins before a seating. Typical wait that day was 45 mins. With a short wait, we were seated. The staff was very busy, but still had a cheerful disposition. Water came fast but that was all that came quickly. They were way understaffed in the kitchen and after we ordered had a 45 min wait for food. Our waitress tried to keep us updated and we did receive a significant discount because of the long wait. Something's are to be expected on holidays and a long wait for busy restaurants are to be expected.
Having said that we both enjoyed the Mom omelette. I suggest the red sauce over the pico. The omelette was properly cooked and tasted great. The fresh southern style biscuit was a treat. The gravy had a very heavy onion flavor. This was not my favorite, but it could be a unusual batch of gravy. I have eaten hash browns in breakfast places from So Cal to Atlanta to Montreal to Seattle. These were some of the best hash browns I have ever had. That is saying a lot if you look at my reviews. We look forward to coming back during a normal breakfast day and try some of the sweeter options.
Update. My wife and I have been back to the broken yolk several times and the food has been quite good. It is now the end of March 2022 and the kitchen seems to be running better. Our waitress today was very good and had a great personality. There is still room for improvement so still 4 stars.

Food is good, service with Miriam - waitress horrible, never came and asked if we needed coffee, napkins or anything. She passed by couple of times never bothered to stop and ask if we needed anything. Horrible!

This place has delicious food and I highly recommend to eat here for breakfast. It isn't too packed and the wait for the food wasn't too long. As their name (broken yolk) mentions eggs they would have to be high quality which they definitely were. This restaurant along with IHOP are both delicious and high quality yet IHOP's food is apparently although not proven is carcinogenic.

Very disappointed yesterday. Food was not the usual quality. I do understand it was busy due to Mothers Day but c'mon, we spent over $50 for one meal. At least they could get it partially correct. Called left a message. Of course no response. Called to inform today, left on hold for over 20 mins. Get it together BY. You guys WERE actually one of my favs! Back to IHOP I guess
