Brooklyn Charm - Ventura reviews
12I really wish they could give itemized receipts because of the confusion with pricing on some items. A copy of the paper where we write down the prices of everything would be nice. Not sure if there was a fee for the process and the receipt only says custom amount, just for the sake of transparency.
I’m from the UK I found this place on tiktok randomly, and was desperate to go. After some research I saw they had a shop in LA as well which was perfect as me and my partner were going on a trip to Santa Barbara so we made this stop to make a charm bracelet! A gorgeous little shop and activity to do with friends.
I went on Saturday after a TikTok went viral. The store was packed but even with all the unexpected business the boss babes running the store handled it with such grace. Always made sure every customer knew what to expect and walk them through the process. Even with the business getting overwhelming attention the staff was nothing but kind, wanting to make everyone feel wanted and welcomed with plenty of kind comments on customers outfits or hairstyles. I got a bracelet with a fat amount of charms and every question i had was answered with attention to detail. I got a text this morning that my bracelet is in the mail. Ive never been so excited to receive a package. I’ll post pics when it arrives but love this biz and would gladly support them in the future!
I came here to make a permanent bracelet. They had so many charms and chains to choose from! Not to mention the most unique selection I’ve ever seen at a jewelry store. You definitely need to check them out if you’re in the area!
Very cool store where you pick your own charms and necklace and they will put it all together for you. Great idea for a personalized gift!
Such a beautiful store. I went recently for their sale and they have boxes of earrings you can search through to find pairs. It’s also only 2$ per earring! I absolutely love the concept and the beautiful jewelry and clothes they have.
I needed help with an art class project. I only needed a few of each supply. They were very handy in that they sold me exactly what I needed and not a whole bunch of extra stuff I will have to find a place for.
I made my beads into earrings. They look pretty good.
My daughter loves this place and always drives from Laguna to get permanent jewelry rings. This time I joined her and felt one of the two employees was being rather snappy towards my daughter. After the employee discouraged her from buying another chain and spending $20 on a pre-made ring, my daughter went back after about 20 mins and asked to exchange it for one that was more comfortable. There was one employee who was super pleasant and helpful. My daughter was very happy to find a ring that fit her finger more comfortably and that she chose herself. As she was walking away, the snappy employee said, "Tips are greatly appreciated, " and when my daughter continued walking, she said, "I take that as a no. "
I think this is absolutely uncalled for, unprofessional, and unacceptable. How dare you suggest a tip after the cost of this ring. I think that it is so disgusting to put a guilt trip on someone for buying a product. Yes, the exchange was a nice gester. However, this was not custom and way overpriced to begin with. We know tips are appreciated. You have it posted ALL over the store.
My tip to you, be professional and grateful for business. If you need to price your products higher to offset tips, then do so. Don't be rude as you lost all of our business.
Friendly and communicative. They did a great job of restringing an old necklace for a fair price.
I highly recommend this place it's one of a kind where you could go to take your jewelry that's been broken as a favorite and they will repair it perfectly. Seen in this picture the last beaded bracelet with the white cross they repaired for me and restrung.
My first in person shopping experience:
The women who was working there that day didn’t know what semi-precious beads they were selling and was rude when I asked to bag my items individually so the chains won’t get tangled. She is short with short hair and glasses.
Second and last experience:
This young man had to be someone’s kid filling in because he had no idea what he was doing. I asked for 3 ft of chain from 2 different spools at 1.25-1.75 per ft and he tried to charge me for the price of an already complete chain necklace! Oh no no I had him correct my total.
Overcharge for crystals in store and online are cheaper.
In reply to Brooklyn charms reply:
The young man definitely didn’t act like he worked there so perhaps an employee had this young man fill in for a short time, during the time I was there? Neither of my shopping experiences are fabricated. And your reply just proves my point of the “kinda rude” employee.
Maybe it was you the first time
Walking into Brooklyn Charm is one-of-a-kind and is like an escape from real life! I could spend hours looking at all the charms, etc.that this shop has to offer and I am always impressed with how clean and how organized everything is- that has to be a lot of work! Downtown Ventura is the perfect spot and I hope they always remain there.
You can tell this shop is a labor of love and that shows in their customer service. I am always greeted with a welcoming smile and staff is ready to answer my questions. I'm looking forward to going back a third time to get some of their permanent jewelry!
