Brophy Bros., Ventura CA

Excellent fresh fish and seafood prepared with great sauces and flavoring. The sea bass, seafood pasta, and clam chowder were all excellent. I was particularly impressed with the flavors and that the scallops were not overcooked.
Superb value and a fabulous view.

I stayed on a "boatel" on the dock and my friends and I ordered takeout. The food is incredible! We're gonna remember this place when we're in the area again. I don't usually care much for chowder, but I loved the chowder here. Highly recommended!

A scenic location at the Ventura Harbor, we sat at the bar to enjoy a cocktail and saw the preparation of some of the hot and cold appetizers. We tried the oyster shooters which were delicious, offered with or without liquor. Also tried the cold appetizer plate which had ceviche, peel and eat shrimp served with chips. They brought us delicious bread and butter to start. We watch as they prepared mussels, clams, and their house cioppino. We loved the view of the harbor and watching the boats coming back in after the day out. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. If you like seafood, give them a try, a wonderful place to take out of town visitors.

Avoid the "fish" sandwich if you can. Probably worth getting a fresh caught plate but they're pricey. Service was friendly, beer and fries were good.

Always a good spot to go to in Ventura harbor. We have gone on a date here, then took the free trolley to downtown. Really really cool spot.

Very nice place, great food great service, great drink, great view. Little pricey but it's all worth the atmosphere and vibe. A special place for special times

The idea of Korean fusion brunch intrigued me so my friends and I decided to check it out while we were in town. After looking at the menu, I was slightly disappointed to find out that the dishes itself were not fusion, instead it was a menu mixed with American brunch and Korean food. I ended up ordering the French toast and it was delicious! Thick flavorful French toast that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They give you caramel sauce to pour over the French toast which was nice since I'm not a big fan of syrup. I also tried the loco moco and the bacon. Bacon was delicious and highly recommended. I don't usually like regular American bacon but this was nothing like that. It was thick, sweet and tender. Loco moco was decent but nothing special: basically a beef patty over rice.

Overall, definitely recommend this place for brunch. Dinner looks great too!

Perfect place to get primo food in a laid back atmosphere. Service is always friendly. Mud pie is a must have.

Great sit down seafood. Lots of options on the menu, not just fish and chips. Wonderful service. Upstairs view of the Harbor. Special needs accessable. Enclosed outdoor seating. Does fill up on the weekends. But I think it's worth the wait.

The bestest, freshest seafood ever! I have traveled quite a ways to indulge myself in actual seafood. The oysters Rockefeller are delightful!

They're doing something that I think is odd. If you will sit at a table they offer a happy hour menu, four feet away at a booth no such deal. The food was so-so, nothing notable. The service was good.

Seafood at this spot - very tasty. I should have took a photo of the food but it was too good to interrupt. It has a great feel to it. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.

Ventura, very much like Santa Barbara, over looking the docks, fresh ocean air and breeze. I had the fried scallops which were fresh and plenty, but also thumbs up for the cole slaw. The server gave us time to talk and hang. I would drive the 2 plus hours to take my son there.

Super cute theme! I went here for drinks after work with friends and it's adorable. The bartender was really friendly too.

CUSTOMER SERVICE TO NOTCH! We had a party of 24. The patience and professionalism superb. I had the clam chowder and a margarita. YUMMY. I would definitely go back.

Great food, great scenery, worth the wait to sit outside if it's a nice day out. The seabass is excellent and the crab cakes leave nothing left to be desired.

They have great seafood, but if you are with anyone who isn't big into fresh fish or is pescaterian, this place doesn't really have any alternatives for people. Great service and staff though and quality seafood, especially the clam chowder.

Great restaurant in a beautiful location at the Channel Island Harbor. Wonderful family spot with inside seating and patio seating that overlooks the Harbor. If not for a fluke issue with my cajun spiced Sea Bass (very smokey smell and taste - very unusual) I would have rated them a 5. After explaining my issue to our server, 2 managers came over to ask what the issue was and apologized on the spot. They took this off the tab, too. We still tipped on what the higher total would have been since it wasn't our servers fault. Still highly recommend Brophy Brothers!
