Buck Owens' Crystal Palace, Bakersfield CA

Service and food were great. The bands that played music were great, too. Fun time with friends.

I want to start off by saying I am a regular at Crystal Palace. I love coming in to have my favorite meal with my wife. I don’t often write reviews, especially because I would hate to complain about a place. I feel like it is one of mine in my wife’s staple restaurants. But I am fed up. The manager, Tonya, was absolutely rude to my wife the other night when we were sitting at our table. She belittled my wife and our food was delivered to us 45 minutes after we ordered it (and that took place after Tonya was rude to my wife.) I’m not sure if she went behind the kitchen to request our food come out late and cold, but it was odd how it all happened at the same time. I have been coming here for so long that I’ve seen numerous managers come and go, and this one by far is the worst I have experience. I have an I have never experienced a manager act like a child the way I did. I was really hoping the owner would place somebody who was a leader, carried them selves like they would wish the rest of the team would carry themselves, and act professionally. Unfortunately, my time at the crystal palace seems to be coming to an end. I really hope this reaches the right people because I hope there’s a change going to happen.

The Sunday brunch is OK but to pricey for the food in my opinion! Awesome venue though!

We didn't expect such a great end to the day. Live music was great, unfortunately steak salad wasn't - we should have opted for fish and chips, they looked good.

Where else can you see a fancy Cadillac hanging on the wall.or so much memorabilia of a happier time? Check hours before visiting. May be booked out for private events.

While the place itself was very cool and live music was great, we wound up waiting well over an hour after our food had been ordered before we finally asked them to cancel our order & we left without eating.

The servers said it was an issue with their system, but I just feel like they were incredibly understaffed. I feel for the workers, everyone was nice as could be, just had a disappointing experience.

Superb country evening with meal, the place is sublime, the music very good and all that for a very reasonable price.

Great country club, good food and nice live music, cool ambience and friendly staff. Highly recommend when in Bakersfield. Not very touristy, you can feel the joie de vivre of the locals, great experience during our west coast trip.

Brunch finally came back, But they took away unlimited mimosas not even offered one free one. Nothing comes with your brunch no drink or anything you have to pay extra and prices went way up. Food was mediocre. Do better!
My mom was with us. She’s 80 absolutely no senior discount. 35.00 per person
probably would not go back.server was not very attentive had to ask many times for refills for our coffee. And when ask for condiments she said it was on the buffet got up and went back and was told that they were out had to ask her to bring to the table? I was excited to get back and have this wonderful brunch We had experience in the past pre-Covid, terribly disappointed.

What a cool and authentic spot! Highly recommend for a country music night. I loved the onion rings, oh, so good. All age crowd, family and friends, very cool.

Went for brunch on Sunday, great buffet spread. Lots of good music playing and cool memorabilia on the walls from Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and more country stars!

We waited 3 hours for our food. The service was great when it came to the server and the ambiance was so amazing, but the management and the food service has greatly gone downhill. Our server continuously asked if we wanted more refills or biscuits but then the manager came over and seemingly berated us for asking how long our food was going to take ONE time after waiting over 2 1/2 hours at that point… she offered us a 10% discount on one 20$ meal (when we already had to change our order TWICE because they were out of things) which gave us a whopping 2 dollars off our meal. I’m never one to complain especially when our server was so gracious, we asked her what the managers name was and she said Tonya. However, the management is absolutely unacceptable and I will not be returning until she no longer works there.

Best steaks in town and the service and entertainment is the best, thanks Crystal Palace for a fantastic evening

Absolutely a must see if you are in Bako! The history, rhe nostalgia, the food, the atmosphere, you won't regret spending time and not too much money here! Very reasonable prices and rhe atmosphere is 1 if a kind place in earth! Whether you are a county music enthusiast or nit, the Crystal Palace is a must for anyone, allow extra time, you'll want to browse and sip your cocktail, and repeat at least a couple of times!
Amazing steaks, and very unique cocktails, atmosphere and fun like no other right here at the Crystal Palace! Don't miss it if you are anywhere near the area!

What a fantastic venue! I’ve been here several times, and I always seem to attend in the middle of summer when it’s hotter than hell outside. Buck Owen’s always seems to keep the interior absolute temperature controlled and CLEAN! I ordered the Ribeye medium-rare with mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly and it taste so damn good. Get yourself there for any of their live entertainment and enjoy a meal and be prepared for an evening of laughs and memories.

Incompetent management, staff was rude and have a racist attitude. Shame on them! Food is mediocre and over priced. NOT going back ever

Food poor. Order soup had to ask twice for it it was awful and cold. The fish and chips were awful $40.00 later.will not go back.

First time ever going there and it was amazing, the atmosphere, the singers & band, the service.

Amazing place to dine at. First time me and my wife came here and it was definitely worth it. We got to see the famous Bakersfield sign, and also loved the museum part of the restaurant. The food was heavenly, i had a chicken fried steak sandwich, which was huge, and fries. Wife got a chicken fried steak meal, with baked potato, and loved it. Started off with some onion rings, which were divine. Ended the meal with chocolate cake, and oh boy, im glad i saved room for it. This place was really amazing, live music, cool bar has a Cadillac behind it, museum to wonder around and check out, made for a fun night. Definitely will be back here again soon.
