Restaurant Buckhorn Steakhouse reviews
13We really enjoyed the food and drinks! The hosts, bar and wait staff were so nice and attentive.
Awesome restaurant! Great service, great atmosphere and incredibly tasty food! Highly recommend this restaurant!
This will be our last time. Buckhorn used to be a five star restaurant.about five years ago they started to slowly decline.no idea why.but service has gone downhill, and food (while good) is no longer five star great. I should give three stars, but feel that the 4.5 stars does not come close to representing reality.
Today, we sat at our table for over 22 minutes before someone came to the table to see if we have been helped.what? After we said no, she said she will be serving our table.great system buckhorn?
I brought my own good wine which was opened like it was was trader joes five buck chuck.the foil was not even cut back. I wish I took a picture.
We sat outside today so that we could take in the live music on street. The umbrellas that they have cannot be repositioned and do not tilt.so while they opened the umbrellas for us, only two people at our table had a little shade.the rest of us had hot sun burning our skin. There are umbrellas out there that tilt.hmmm.
The chairs outside were completely covered with spiderwebs.hmmm.
I could go on. This was the the worst visit we have had, but ony by a little.the decline over five years has resuted in a three star experience.which does not warrent $50+ per person. There are lots of better places to give away your money.
As I said at start.this will be my last time coming here.sad.we have been going to buckhorn for a very long time.over 15 years. Thank goodness there are other places to go in this wonderful region of northern California
Nice place hi-quality food, but nothing to die for. A little spendy. Acoustics weren't great which made it difficult to have a conversation.
First off, the food was fabulous. We hadn't been there in a long time, and I was really looking forward to having dinner. We were seated promptly, but after that the service was just "off". It almost seemed like our server just didn't want to wait on us. He was very attentive to the tables all around us, but we just seemed like a little island of siberia in the middle of the restaurant. I had to ask him to take our order after he walked by us several times while tending to other tables. Since we had waited I was getting hungry so we ordered bread. Never came. I asked him to take it off the bill after our entrees came, and he offered to bring it then, but by then we had our food. Never took it off the bill. Got my husband's side order wrong, and had to manually stand at our table to try to make an adjustment on our bill, and failed to bring his soft drink until we asked him about it after our food was served. I'm a lifetime Buckhorn diner. I went when it was off the side door on Railroad Avenue, but I've never felt as unwelcome as I was last night. Maybe he just had an "off" night, but it certainly seemed like he was "on" for everyone around us. Again, the food was fabulous, but I was looking forward to a special dinner, and was really made to feel unwelcome. So disappointed.
Used to absolutely love Buckhorn, but ever since the pandemic they've gone downhill. I got the charbroil sirloin and it was the chewiest gristly steak I've ever had from here. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked but the cut just seemed cheap. I finished all my sides but left meat on the plate.
Extremely pricey. Decent steak. Asked for medium rare filet, both were well done. Not dry, but over done by a lot.
It was a bit of a wait, but the food was delicious. I suggest the prime rib. Absolutely fantastic spinach artichoke dip with the toasted bread.
Quite enjoyed their tomahawk steak for 2. Comes with two sides and seasonal vegetables so you don't have to fight over sides or order extra. Moose, deer and elk on the walls add the finishing touch. 10/10 recommend only slight negative is it's a bit noisy.
It was just as great as my last visit about 10 years ago. Time goes by fast so plan your visit today.
We hosted a rehearsal lunch at Buckhorns for 40 people. The help we received in planning our event was immeasurable. They were incredible in helping to pick the menu and all details prior to event. Our experience the day of the event was incredible. The staff was extremely helpful and the service was amazing. Everyone raved about the food and the venue was perfect. Thank you for everything you all did to assure our event was a success!
I love the atmosphere in this Steakhouse. The food was decent too. I will definitely be back.
They still put out some great food. The service was a little slow, but it was a packed house on Father's Day. Maybe some extra help on holidays would solve that issue. It was expensive but worth every penny. Had a great time.
