I came here with my boyfriend. Horrible experience my boyfriend did the voice in the bear and the employee was being EXTREMELY rude about the face mask. First time coming here and last. I though we were going to have a good experience and we were very exited about it. But left very disappointed: (

Very cute store for kids. Little pricey but the stuffed animals pricey. But there are cheaper ones also

Always a fun place to visit for kids. My 4year old enjoys browsing and the team was attentive, helpful and very friendly. We also appreciate the safety measures in place

Couldn’t buy a build a bear because they wanted my 3 year old to wear a mask in the store, so we went to a different toy store who let him in. Most daycares won’t force small children to wear a masks so why is a toy store enforcing it on a child that won’t even go the bathroom in a toilet ‍️

I love taking my kids here. The whole experience of building the bear always puts a smile on my kid's faces and that brings me the ultimate glee.

We were just there today (first time with our children and wanted them to have a great experience) and what a disappointment! An employee manning the door would not let people in unless they were totally masked up. Ok, fine, we had our masks on. But she wouldn't even let a mom and her 2 year old toddler in because the toddler wasn't wearing one. Poor little girl had to leave crying, it was so sad to watch. We couldn't believe how they were treating their customers. We decided just to leave. We also saw others who witnessed it leave as well without buying anything. Shame on that employee.

I’ve been there twice because I wanted to give them a second chance but again the staff is so awful, so rude, and it’s like they don’t like adults participating in the bear making process. They make it so uncomfortable and awkward honestly the whole entire staff shouldn’t be working at a toy store if they’re just going to discriminate and make fun of adults who are there to buy toys it makes the experience weird. Both young and old staff just snicker, give you dirty looks, and make fun of you if you’re over the age of 5 trying to buy merchandise which is annoying because build a bear makes products for games that have a teen/adult fan base so they shouldn’t be surprised that there are adults there trying to buy merchandise. I suggest just going to the one in Northridge because the staff is just so horrible and they’re literally just gonna sit there and make fun of you, snicker, and laugh it’s so weird seeing alleged grown women act like this like this. They should not be working at a toy store.

Has a great selection of stuffed animals and accessories, and has a really great COVID-19 prevention policy

They had one bear to choose from or a couple Disney characters that had outfits already on that do not come off which defeats the "build a bear" experience. Only a couple things for boys. Rude staff

I was excited to do the "pay your age" birthday bear for my sons 2nd quarantine birthday (April 2021) I looked online, did research and bought a gift card. Once we got to the store at the mall, the doors were locked with a note on the door just saying sorry for the inconvenience. Online says they are open, the phone number works but you can't get through to talk to anyone to get more details. I'm just frustrated that it's not actually open and no word on when it will, I hope they update their online info. Maybe for birthday number 3. Edited to add: we made it back and we got to build our bear! We had a lot of fun!

I am heartbroken and devastated for my two year old due to our experience this past Saturday at Build a Bear.

We took my newly 2 year old to the Build-A-Bear location at the TO mall to finally give up his pacifier and put it in his very first bear. We had talked up the visit to him all day long and he was over the moon excited. I had checked the website prior to our visit to see what their new policies were for COVID and no where on the website does it state anything about a 2 year old having to wear a mask. Upon arrival to the store we were asked how old my son was, I had said he was newly 2 and they let me know that my child will need to wear a mask for his entire time spent in the store. I let her know he unfortunately doesn’t wear a mask for very long as it’s not required of him anywhere else (the cdc recommendation is 3 and up) so he doesn’t exactly grasp the concept yet. They told me he must wear it or be asked to leave. My son wore his mask for about 10/15 minutes and then was done wearing it. I sat on my knees so I was eye level with him and explained he was doing such a great job and that we were almost finished and he needed to keep it on until then. While I’m engaging in conversation with my son, the manager of the store screams at us from the other side of the store that if my son wont put his mask on then we needed to get out. My son screamed “no thank you” between tears and threw his head back and hit it on the floor. I scooped him up and rocked him while he was crying and the manager again told me I needed to exit the store right now. At that point I was completely embarrassed and my child was heartbroken as he didn’t understand what was happening at all. I am completely disgusted with the way we were treated at this location and their lack of compassion and empathy towards a two year old. I don’t believe people like that should be working with children at all.

My husband who felt like my son shouldn’t be punished simply because he didn’t understand what was happening, stood in line to complete the process and have our sons bear made. The associate operating the stuffing machine watched the entire altercation happen and was in no rush to fill the bear and help get my husband out of the store. She slowly went through the whole process and had the audacity to tell my husband to hug the heart and tell her how much he loves the bear. I’m absolutely blown away by the entire experience and will never be back.

EDIT: we are not in any way anti-maskers, I am fully vaccinated and my husband and I both had our masks on the entire time. We were in no way disrespectful to anyone around us and happy to comply.

It was very fun! The only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because there wasn't many bears to choose from. (About 2 of my interest, no normal teddy bears, but the rest were more child like) I ended up choosing a bunny, which the staff members helped bring to life of course, and the worker stuffing her made the expierence super fun! I hope to go back soon!:)

Nice staff. Lacking on the options of stuffies and accessories to choose from compared to other build a bear shops we have visited though.
