Bull's Smokin' BBQ reviews
20Did not enjoy my meal. Chicken, and pork did not deliver. Didn’t seem fresh. Fries were bad. Coke machine wasn’t calibrated
Love the pulled pork fries and the beef brisket is on point. The corn bread is one of a kind and my kids eat it like its nagic. Ive had several items from the menu and love the people and the food. Great place to come and eat and even watch sports.
Went there for the first time after having it recommended to me. Did not disappoint. Mari was wonderfully pleasant and hospitable. I ordered the beef brisket and now question whether I will ever end up trying any of their other menu items - it was sooo good. While I was eating, Mari brought a piece of fresh, homemade cornbread for me to try. I am not really a cornbread person, but what she gave me went a long way towards changing my mind. So warm and delicious. I was very surprised at how much I liked it. And her offering it to me was just a kindness that I don’t see too much of these days. Highly recommended. Thank you and see you again soon, Mari.:)
Ate here today food was a 4 of 5 but the girl behind the register just hates her life and is just really rude. Would have left a fat tip but the service sucked.
Looks line a nice place but didn’t try it…. It is closing at 9pm all days. Times given here are then wrong….
Place is very cool, food fantastic. Cashier was very nice. They make rootbeer floats with Sarsaparilla and thrifty ice cream! Would for sure recommend.
It's not that easy to find good BBQ in California when you are from Texas. Bulls Smoking BBQ is pretty dang close to home. Friendly staff, fast service, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere, great selections, good portions. All they need is sweet tea!
Saw the notice on the wall for the license transfer to new ownership. So we thought we'd give this place another try. Unfortunately the taste, quality and prices still aren't up to par with other San Diego County BBQ restaurants like Coops and Abbey's. The 16oz of brisket was tasty, lean, but a little on the dry side despite some au jus added to the cup in which it was served. The brisket sandwich was too dry. The pulled pork sandwich was good, but not outstanding. The cornbread was good. Hopefully the new owners will make some changes. The location, theme, and usage of space are all great. So if the food is improved and prices are made more reasonable, this place has the potential to be a major success.
My girlfriend and I went there for lunch with our dogs Sunday. She had brisket and I had the pork ribs. FREAKING AWESOME! And with the Bulls Spicy BBQ sauce, OMG! The service was great and they even supplied our dogs with water and bones. Can't wait to go back! Thanks!
This is my all time favorite place to grab a drink and a little bbq with my pups. My dogs love the bones that they offer, as do I since it keeps them occupied while I enjoy my meal.
The staff was awesome! But the food was MEH. However they do allow pets so that part was great.
We met friends and family there and loved it! The food was delicious! My 'southern-girl' heart loved the MacnCheese.
We all agreed the meat was all tender, juicy, and flavorful. However, most loved the 3 different choices of BBQ sauce, while others thought they were OK, at best.
I never thought that I will find a BBQ like this here in California. One of the best! The place is unique, the food was delicious specially the lamb and the cornbread, and we could bring our big puppy with us, and she even got a beef bone!
This place is awesome in every way. From the friendly staff, to the great atmosphere, to the top notch bbq in the area. Owner gave out samples of the sausage and it was so good I added it to my original order. Make sure to add this place to your list of places to eat when you are in San Diego, Old Town area
We have been coming her for many years. I get the same thing every time. 1 beef bone, 4 pork ribs, FF & slaw. And a beer while I wait. They have 3 sauces, I prefer the spicy. Fall of the bone ribs, yum!
Gumbo was really good! Brisket needs a more flavor, and the Mac n cheese was delicious! All in all good place to eat and get a drink!
A little different from bbq places. Cozy environment and the owner is a very gracious guest who puts an extra charm to the place. Also, very friendly place for dogs.
Nice place, really nice owner bit I was extremely disappointed and so were my friends. The beans when done right thicken and the beans are tender which was the case. However, there were also uncooked hard beans as well which tells me as a cook they added new not fully cooked beans to the old beans. Ribs were very dry and tough. Just totally disappointed.
