Bún Bò Huế An Nam reviews
14The food is excellent here when you are looking for bun bo hue. That's the restaurant's name. The pho is pretty good too if you have someone that don't eat spicy.
Great hu tieu. Generous portions and a lot of toppings. Highly recommended. Their bun Bo hue also looked pretty good.
We are from the east coast so the portions and flavors are out of this world. If you can get past the small homeless camp in front of the store, the food and services are excellent. Service is quick and friendly and the portions are huge. Highly recommended. $17-19 for a bowl.
When in the area, this is the go to place specifically for the bún bò huế with the thicker rice noodles. I usually round out the order with either a Vietnamese ice coffee or three-color drink. Interestingly, the menu is limited to pho and some other noodle soup varieties. The last visit, I ordered pho for the first time
Let me be clear. Order the Bun Bo Hue aka #1. There are great places to get other things but if you come here then this is the reason why everyone around you is also eating the same thing.
Expect a crowd when you arrive so large groups will likely have to wait for awhile.
The service will be fast and almost rude which is expected at this type of restaurant.
P. S. Cash Only
Pho and bun bo hue is a family favorite the tables are numbered, so it is easy to remember which table to tell the cashier when it is time to pay.
Poor service! Very bad 1 male order waiter spoke harshly, annoyed. Our group is about 10 people. When the order was a little changed, he said annoyed that if you order anything, order it, but tore 2 sheets of paper. The attitude is very unpleasant. As a group, it's not fun to eat anymore. One more lady at the counter when she brought water in, she saw us pulling the 2 tables closer to sit together for fun, so she was upset that she said she couldn't pull the table like that and her voice sounded like she was swearing at our group. The service is like I'm begging, not paying. After going to the US, I still bring the Vietnamese style to serve like that. No matter how delicious it is, no one will come back.
$$ Great foods! Perfectly cook tendons. Fat pho broth is tastier than regular pho broth, should condense broth for higher quality broth and lessen waste?
Have chili sauce and fermented sauce at a corner with small plates, so people who love spicy and bio catalysts can get their fills.
More fresh herbs and vegetables of different varieties, less sprouts and white onions would be nice.
Desserts are great, 4 unsweeted black jelly, beans and sweet coconut milk cut down on sugar intake, banana essence improves fragrance. 6 Red bean dessert is perfect: bean is semisweet, coconut base is unsweetened, perfect for brain, bones n joints.
California is temperate, less shaved ice? Can fresh coconut be ordered?
Hue beef noodle is delicious but hurt my neck. Every move is so miserable. It clogs my blood vessels. Need to check the fat they use to make the spice cubes.
After 4th night of blood vessels clogging, I had a bunch of grey hair on the top right of my head.
Hue beef noodle soup is as good as in Vietnam! The space is spacious, entering the restaurant to meet many Vietnamese people.
We were there last night for dinner. I don't know what happened to that lady (the owner, the cashier), but she acted like we were there for a free meal as she didn't even give me smirk to acknowledge my patronage, let alone thanking me when I paid. I handed her $50, but she returned my change on the counter in silence without any expression whatsoever. OMG!

I don't know what happened to the mother-in-law last night, maybe she lost the card game or something, but she acted like her family came to the free food. When paying, I politely give money in his hand, but when he changes money, it is left on the counter and his face is like a dumpling. In the US, but still under the influence of Chinese. Goodbye
Classic bun bo hue near little saigon. Parking may be a lil difficult at peak times but should still be able to find it on the street. Cash or debit card only. Large bowls are pretty big but very filling. Can seat lots of people and most people are friendly. Just beware cuz some homeless people are around
BBH not as good as it was before, but if you don't want to wait for BBH at Hue, Bun Bo Hue An Nam will satisfy craving.
When you first walk into Bun Bo Hue An Nam, it smells like fermented shrimp paste. We order a few bowls bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle) $17, hu tieu/mi nam vang (dry noodles with soup on the side) $17 and a kid's size pho thit with meatballs $9. Everything tasted great. For the hu tieu nam vang, I love how you can mix the vegetables into the noodles. It almost felt like eating a salad. When you get to the bottom, are there crispy pork grind pieces with ground pork meat. The soup on the side had a nice size bone in it with some meat. They made the egg noodles with the right amount of cooking time leaving it firm and not soft. Great job staff at Bun Bo Hue An Nam.
They do not accept credit cards here! Lucky I had enough cash on me. Bun bo hue was okay. From the name, I would that it would taste much better. Hell my bun bo hue is better! They also close at 9: 00 PM. Early for a restaurant.
Damned busboy was hovering over me to finish so he could go home.
