Bureau of Cannabis Control reviews
4Absolutely horrible to work with. Keeps small businesses waiting months to work through applications while burning through finances. Absolutely no way to reach supervisors or even reach an analyst for support. Meanwhile, they fast track big businesses and do everything they can to bleed smaller ones dry. Someone needs to come in and straighten this corrupt organization out. I should not have bribe someone (which, apparently, is insanely common) to get my license taken care of.
Bringing in Lori Ajax to be the Chief of the Bureau was a big mistake. Cannabis and alcohol are 2 distinctly different industries. The fact that it is easy to grow good cannabis in California makes it difficult to try to over tax and over regulate the industry. The end result is an unsuccessful industry for all participating including California. The black market is swelling and any revenue that could be gleaned from cannabis is greatly diminished. BCC you get a big F.
If you unjustifiably keep raiding growers not only are you losing trust and credibility. You will be losing plenty of more money as well. There is a way for you to develop revenue and trust without raids. I do know of aa potential plan that would be better for everyone...
The phone number listed on here and other websites no longer goes to BCC, but takes you through a phone tree that eventually ends up at the Consumer Affairs call center. If you have a question pertaining to regulations - as many of us due, rapidly approaching METRC integration, phase 3 testing and other requirements - its become a challenge to get direct answers. If the BCC does email you back after several days to weeks, you get an answer that refers you to regulations, instead of answering the question. This is not helpful since most of us have read the regulations and need clarification. When you talk to the call center they cannot answer any BCC related questions and direct you to email them. This is not acceptable support for the legal market. If you want the legal market to progress forward, and not help the black market any further, then please be more available to answer directly, questions related to regulations. We want to do things correctly and need better support.
