Love this trusty spot! Go early or later in the afternoon, otherwise there is generally always a long wait.
Their Turkey Benedict is always delicious.

So the hotel told us this was the only place serving breakfast within walking distance today Nov 28,21. We lucked out with no reservation…short wait…texted when table was ready. Waitress said portions small and most people do 2 or 3. Ordered coffee (kept it coming) with order of French Toast and a fried egg tomato bread cheese thing. F Toast was fine but the egg tomato cheese was terrific. I was expecting like a grilled tomato but they made some kind of purée with the tomato & cheese and the fried egg on top. The flavor was sensational. I asked the waitress to find out how they made purée because no way just tomato and cheese…… never got back to me……. If Cafe 21 sees this please send me how you do that tomato purée and what else you add…. Not vegan but these guys had a vegan option for “everything. ”

An awesome way to start your day. What an awesome menu. And the food looks and tastes incredible!

Finally, perfect spot for breakfast was founded.

Corn & shrimp cakes paired with a perfectly poached egg was simply delicious. Crumpet with short rib was delicious. Blueberry dutch pancake was tangy & delightful. Ask for dining outside for a better ambience.

Cafe 21 is the must stop brunch spot! Get there early, because the wait gets long. The drinks are inventive and delicious. We share 4 small plates between 2 people and it was plenty. So not miss the tiramisu pancake, or the Benedict with turkey, feta bread pudding and hollandaise sauce. WOW!

Quantity was little less. Taste was good. Drinks menu is quite refreshing. I would highly recommend margaritas

Any foodie needs to stop here! Delicious and unique! The bread and jam plate with the walnuts… so good. I’m not sure how the walnuts are prepared but they were amazing! We loved the drip coffee for two.

Great customer service! The hostess was helpful, the waiter was pleasant and honest about serving sizes. He wasn't just trying to upsell for the heck of it. The plates are small, but rich and hearty.

I got the vegan French toast and a latte with oat milk. Really one order was enough, but I got a second and was stuffed until dinner time!

The coffee was superb. Served piping hot. Not burnt. The fower petals in the latte design were a visual delight.

Finally, the decor is stunning, unique, and makes dining at Cafe 21 that much better! I highly recommend visiting!

Our breakfasts were all a bit unique and tasty and our server was friendly! We enjoyed our breakfasts but were surprised at the cost ($55 plus tip for 3 people), especially since the server suggested that people usually order two things per person since it’s tapas style and we only ordered one each. The breakfasts were $12-$13 each so I guess our coffees and hot chocolates were pricey.

Had an amazing breakfast! The shrimp was out of this world! The service was awesome and the prices are competitive. I will definitely be back!

Fast and delicious brunch experience. Service is friendly and helpful and food is creative and fun.

Wait 30 minutes walked around came back sat down they ran out of what I wanted, gave my friend his food and no one is to be found for my food and so I’m still waiting to see if my food will be brought out so far not a very good experience

Cafe 21 is a place that always seems to be crowded and a wait to get a table. With that said, it is well worth the wait. Both breakfast and lunch are served in a fine dining atmosphere daily till 3pm except closed on Monday and Tuesday. On this occasion, my date and I waited 20 minutes. Once inside we were presented with menus or we could use the QR scan codes that were on each table. Our drink order was taken immediately, and shortly after our choice of food. My date ordered the avocado toast which came with a poached egg and some seasoning on top. I ordered the French toast which was accompanied be slices of various fresh fruits. Both of us throughly our selections. The wait staff were very accommodating and checked back regularly. Prices were within range for San diego area. A wonderful experience overall.
