Cafe 220

Tried chicken shawarma plate - chicken tasted bad, no flavor and an odd smell. Plain white rice. For the price ($20), I expected a higher quality meal.

Today I and my brother went to cafe 220 for lunch. We ordered two Lamb and beef Gyro Wraps and a hummus. We sat outside and waited for our food. After about 15 minutes or more, a Spanish gentleman brought our gyros with no aluminum foils used to wrap the gyros with. As we started eating the gyros, the juice started dripping down our hands and it made our plates and our hands very dirty. We have had gyros before in cafe 220 but they wrapped them with aluminum foils and didn’t have this juice dripping issue. Also worst thing is as soon as we finished eating, we both started feeling sick, our symptoms got worst minutes by minutes and we had to leave. As soon as we got home, we both went to the restroom and started throwing up following a severe diarrhea. We are not throwing up now but still have diarrhea symptoms. My message for the owner is simple. You need to pay serious attention to your place of cooking, continually clean up, disinfect and get rid of left over food items that can cause food poisoning. From the stand point of business laws, This sort of health issues can get your business in serious trouble. Food is overpriced and in smaller portions compared to other restaurants. Are we gonna come back to this place? Probably never! Last but not least, the old guy in the back who gets the orders, is rude and unprofessional!

I like to start with the lentil soup and hummus. For the plates I order Chicken gyro plate, comes with rice and delicious salad. Some people might enjoy the salad better without dressing.

I’m not too sure what’s going on with the theme at this restaurant or the flavors of the food but it is definitely not Mediterranean nor middle eastern. If you’re looking for Mediterranean food keep this in mind. Really disappointed because the menu and restaurant was advertised as a Mediterranean mix of foods. Tastes peculiar and far from the actual cuisine.

Great casual mediterranean place! The store owner was welcoming and knowledgeable, the lamb and beef kebab wrap was great, and the owner even threw in some hot tea for free since I was chatting with a friend for about 20 minutes after finishing our meal. They were happy to make the wrap spicier on request (although I'll probably ask for extra spicy next time). Will go back again!

When you first walk into Cafe 220, the first thing you always see is Gilberto cooking, he usually greets you with a smile (he has a cool mustache too), then you walk to place your order and Hasan, Nil, or Yusuf take your order with pleasure, they make suggestions, and explain what every dish has if you have questions. I particularly like their suggestions, I can go and just say, "make me a dish" and I have not once being disappointed. Their service and attention is excellent, and if I was to describe what makes Cafe 220 special, is that they are friendly, polite, and treat customers with respect.

My favorite selections to eat here are the Tantuni wrap, you can ask them to add rice, and it makes a difference, this dish was once suggested by Hasan, and then Gilberto added rice one day, and that became my favorite, the Combo Mixed Grill is another favorite, very healthy, rich in vegetables, salads and meats. The Adana and Chicken Gyro Plates are a good choice for lunch, but if you are really hungry you can always get the Alexander Kebab, and if you are not that hungry, you can always pick the Lamb & Beef or Chicken gyro wrap.

My husband and I are going to this restaurant lots of time! I like the food and fast service! Most of time, the owner brings us tea for free! It’s such a heart-warming act!

The owner at the beginning was not rude but not helpful he was really straight forward.then when the food arrived the chicken was very dry and had no taste but the beef was not as bad with a little taste. The wraps were very oily and spilling on the plate so much. The lentil soup was the best part of the meal and the bread with yogurt appetisers. (IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS PLACE).

Chicken shish kabab was okay. It was with mild flavor and not juicy per my taste. Ambience of outdoor sitting is nice touch.

Great food. Great prices! Great people! I had the lamb kebab and it was perfect! The lamb was cooked just right. The vegetables were done great, with just a hint of char. 2 skewers and rice and I am good until dinner! Turkish tea to top it off and your lunch in this area is one of the best values!

Came here during the covid-ness, they have an excellent set up for outdoor dining and great service. The salmon salad and eggplant salad is beyond words to describe. I can probably say I havent eaten salmon that delicous in a long time. Would definitely come again and have that combo again. Thank you!

For a first time visit, the food was absolutely delicious and I think I"ve found myself a new favorite eatery! The food was very fresh and flavorful. It was light and felt super nourishing. I had the falafel plate and ate everything! It was SO good. HIghly recommend this place! Service was phenomenal and really appreciated the two guys who prepared my food.

Very good Pescatarian option! The salmon plate is really good! Not much else besides that but I wouldn’t expect a Mediterranean place to have a whole lot.

Falafel wrap toasted on a grill and some homemade hummus on the side. What they don't advertise is that they make almost everything themselves, including the baklava. Everyone there works very long hours.

The owner of this business insists on an unsanitary practice that credit card companies ended in 2018: signing for your purchase. No hand sanitizer, no sanitizing wipes. Good luck with that!

The food is absolutely amazing, which is why I didn’t rate it lower. But because there is no proper ventilation in the store, your food might be seasoned with secondhand smoke from the street
