Cafe Athena

Blew my expectations out the water. Super flavorful and delicious Greek cuisine. Expansive menu with all kinds of great options. And the water tasted nice and cleanly filtered, which is the mark of a good restaurant. I highly recommend. P. S.the Galacto-Boureko dessert is phenomenal.

The last time we ate here was before their remodel a few years back, so we were delighted with the bigger and more open dining area.

We visited on a Friday for dinner.
The food was delicious, and there were good zized portions, even for non platter dishes. The restaurant decoration is modern and beautiful, and the atmosphere was cheerful and full of life.
The sevice was prompt, and one thing that for me is also important, the bathrooms were clean.
As an additional point, there was plenty of parking available.

OMG, the Taziki. Super yummy, that's regular yumy but w/ a cape. Go here and make your firend's tastebuds jealous. I love this place.

We've been going to Cafe Athena for 20 years - by far the best Greek food in San Diego. Reminds me of my travels through Greece. The food is always fresh and savory. The tzatziki and gyros are the best. I miss the old blue and white Greek decor but my daughter loves the modern design and atmosphere, so it's all good.

Used to be a nice intimate place for sumptuous Greek food. We recently went back and the place has changed a bit. Different ambiance, slightly louder music. The food is still yummy but I miss the old vibe.

Great food. Sometimes the service can be very slow.but usually worth the wait. Overall a great restaurant

We just had our rehearsal dinner here over the weekend at Cafe Athena and did a buyout of the whole restaurant and bar. It was their first full buyout and they knocked it out of the park. The food, staff, the flow, the set up, the service, all A+. We really could not have asked for a better night.
Joe and Tony did a tremendous amount of detailed work and planning to make our night special and it was fantastic. We had guests from all over the country and even Spain and Italy who all LOVED the food. Thank you Cafe Athena for a wonderful evening!

This place has great food but it is overpriced. $11 for a side-size order or baba ganoush etc etc

We had our Easter Celebration Catered and the whole experience was exceptional! From the first step of ordering thru Tony the Manager to the Delivery Driver's setup it all went seamless. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and communicated extremely well. Then of course the food was phenomenal! We had several Vegans and many guests with very discerning palettes and everyone raved about the meal. Best Greek food ever!

Fantastic good with even better service. An absolute local establishment here in PB. Although all the dishes are amazing, the Bourekia, Gyros wrap, and Chicken Souvlaki are my favorites. Overall, a great place to go with friends for Mediterranean cuisine in PB.

Placed a catering order with them to feed 30 people and everything was a complete hit! Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the service and communication I had with everyone at Cafe Athena demonstrated such care. Can't wait to visit again!

Wonderful food, great staff and owner, and they have remodeled the restaurant in the coolest decor. Perfect for a date night! I also use them for catering lunches, and everyone loves their food! Highly recommend!

The flavors are decent, but the quality of the fundamental ingredients doesn’t seem to be super high. I got a stomach ache from their lamb and I have eaten lamb all my life.

Food is superb really fresh and delicious. Love this place! I also really love their indoor decor - so pretty, modern, rustic, and chic!

Lovely interior. Waitress recommended Avogolemono soup. It was fabulous. Nice place that I would definitely return to if I wasn’t just visiting for the weekend.
