Cafe Coda reviews
15Fantastic cafe, I highly recommend the outdoor seating. Staff is attentive and friendly and the food is delicious. It is rather pricey for a cafe but you do also get more food so it evens out a bit.
Visiting family in Chico for a night and stopped here for breakfast on our way out. Food/Service was great.
We had a really enjoyable experience at Cafe Coda recently. We arrived at around 10am for breakfast and encountered a number of eager locals standing along the wall outside. The new waiting system employs beeper type devices given in order of arrival. Your beeper buzzes when it's time to be seated. Our wait was about 35-40 minutes. Longish but not unreasonable. We were promptly served with smile.although it was clear the employees were feeling the rush. The food that was delivered was exceptional. Cafe Coda consistently serves up delicious, nutritious and attractive meals. I highly recommend Cafe Coda for breakfast and lunch.
Really good food. Like most restaurants they are short staffed. So, be patient when waiting for a table. Very nice people work there.
Comfortable atmosphere and terrific food presentation. Food flavor lacks "pop" and turn around time is slower than average.
Best breakfast spot with an espresso bar in Chico! They have everything from healthful simplicity to greasy decadence. Great spot to take visitors. They try to source local ingredients and I've heard they treat their employees well. Go early to avoid lines and budget plenty of time.
Finally had the chance to try this place and I was blown away! Extremely good food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Pricey, but you get what you pay for! Can't wait to go back!
The wait was about 40 minutes and our server seemed like they weren't having a high attention span day because they kept forgetting things and having to come back often. We didn't have high hopes for the food after looking at the menu and having the server forget coffee then creamer.
I was wrong. The service was good, it was just a rocky start and the food was excellent. We had the Nutella French Toast, the Smokehouse B&G with over easy eggs and something called a Stupendo. The Nutella French Toast was delicious of course. The Smokehouse Biscuit and Gravy had some of the best gravy I've had recently and the biscuit was super flaky but moist. My daughter only mumbled happiness while she ate her Stupendo.
Great job Cafe Coda.
Had an excellent breakfast here with my wife, her sister and brother - in -law. I had the Simpleton and it was perfectly cooked and served hot. My wife had the lemon poppyseed pancakes and loved them. Great breakfasts all around!
Coda has the best flavored coffee, brown sugar mocha (you can get it in hot or cold) grilled cheese paired with tomato soup was divine.nachos with pulled pork was outstanding.
Wonderful little local place, and one of the few places in chico you can get good diner style hashbrowns that isn't Dennys. Generous portions, feels very much like the portions my grandma would give me because she "wanted to make sure you're eating enough, dear" be prepared to walk out with a box or two. Drinks are very tasty, and well made, the lattes have little foam art on them, which I adore
My go to order is always the Wise Guy! I love it and it is always perfectly filling and savory:)
For 5 years my friends told me to try this place, maybe my expectations were just too high by the time I finally got around to it, this last week. The food wasn't overpriced which I was happy to see my issue comes with the quality of the food. My eggs were both cooked differently (one over easy and one pretty much raw), the bacon I had was bland, the toast was the shining star of my meal. Got a lemon poppyseed pancake for the table, this monster of a pancake was delicious but the texture was very rough. The honey lavender latte was just a tad bit too strong with the lavender and too light on the honey making it more of a floral drink than anything. Everything they did was just a near miss each time. I intend on going back to see if they can hit the bullseye the second time around. One thing that definitely hit in the first go around was the attentive front staff and the atmosphere.
I had the pastrami Benedict. And it was good. I look forward to trying other items. It was my 1st time there
