Cafe Guarani reviews
17Delicious cuisine with a very tasty vegan option in each category of their menu! Two vegan empanadas, vegetable and soy meat, both very tasty. They also have very soft and chewy vegan chocolate chip cookies and alternative milk choices for their coffees. A very friendly staff and cozy cafe atmosphere!
We went here based off reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint! This is definitely more of a cafe, with a cute, but smaller seating area and not full service. Even with that being said, their empanadas were incredible, especially the ham and cheese, and the smoked pulled pork with a BBQ mustard sauce. The cheesy cornbread was great too! We will definitely return on one of our Monterey trips!
We ordered the brisket and beef empanadas, beef croquettes and lattes. Everything was delicious, the brisket empanada being our favorite! However, unexpectedly pricey - it was $10 for one empanada.
Just had a wonderful breakfast at this seemingly under the radaar restaurant.
Generous pastry portions, delicious coffee and polite service-will definitely return next time we are in town.
Excellent stop for lunch within a 5 minute walk of the aquarium. We tried all the empanadas and each was better than the last, with the pork and beef ones the favorites. The coffee and tea drinks were also delicious. All the spice mixes and syrups are made in house. Only a couple of inside tables, but they have an outside garden too.
The cappuccino and cortado are well made. Not just the latte art, but the milk is frothed well and the coffee is strong but not burnt. The barista was very helpful and courteous even though we had a larger group. The alfajor de maizena was pretty good too!
Great restaurant and coffee house! Mate Lattes are hot and delicious. Food is authentic and yummy. Try the Lemon Delight and all flavors of the empanadas! The secret garden in the back is relaxing and peaceful. I highly recommend Café Guarani.
Perhaps not suited to my taste buds, but empanadas were way too expensive and small, and the guava bread was similarly nothing spectacular and too pricey.
Spent $20 on one bun, one empanada and a Yerba mate.
Wouldn’t come again.
We came in for the amazing empanadas. Kimberly was so welcoming, gave us a sample of the yerba mate, and turned us on to the supremely delicious guava medialunas (made with brioche dough!). Definitely visiting again next time I'm in Monterey. This place is a gem!
Empanadas were delish and the Guatemalan mocha and spiced Guatemalan mocha were divine! Such a cute little patio too!
Came here for a late breakfast, no line, plenty of seating including a nice back patio with a well kept garden. I liked the baked empanadas a bit more. Hot sauce selection was great. Was able to sip cold Yerba mate and enjoy sitting outside. Easy street parking. All gender bathroom
Delicious coffee and a cozy hidden terrace, we really enjoyed it! Beef empanadas were great, but a bit pricey.
Just happened upon this on Labor Day and we were thrilled. Great empanadas (we had chicken and brisket). Tender meat and a great sauce. We also had the cheese sopa bread. Delicious. And Yerba Mate tea served in a guampa with bambillo. Hidden patio is so cute and perfect place to enjoy.
Found this quaint little cafe/coffee shop while visiting Pacific Grove. Friendly staff, great ambience with garden feel, and wonderful vegan options. Food was fantastic and had the best chai tea latte!
Delicious empanadas- I tried a few, but he pulled pork and ham and cheese ones were my favorite. The chimichurri sauce which they came with was also really good, as was the side of yucca fries we ordered. Great atmosphere with lots of light and plants.
This place is absolutely fantastic. The cold Yerba Mate is interactive, deliciously subtle and fun. At the suggestion of the hostess I got the ham and cheese empenada, and I was so very happy with it. Perfection! 10/10 recommend I will be back!
