Cafe Mokka reviews
17 Couldn't get a reservation, so I decided to do a walking and get on the wait list for any no-shows. What I thought would be about a 25min wait turned to 10min! I definitely got lucky but suggest if you don't mind waiting in thr cute coffee shop and read a newspaper. Only $12.50 for 30min! CASH ONLY.
Great service, friendly staff, well organized, well staffed for prompt service.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND AS A MUST DO IN ARCATA
Nice little find - coffee shop tucked away in Arcata. Cozy atmosphere, great coffee, and friendly service. Ambiance very different from your usual coffee shop.
Ive never eaten there but the hot chocolate is divine.
The hot tubs are wonderful and soothing and I feel like a fine aged whiskey when i get out of those barrels. 10/10 would recommend.but also go away cuz yall be clogging up the appointments.
The kind of spot where people line up outside the door before the place opens. The sign of an excellent business. Great coffee and service. An oasis.
Tried to call for 30 minutes straight with nothing but a busy signal.think their phone line is down again
Best coffee shop in the north coast. It's small and cozy, there are only 5 or 6 tables inside. But the interior outside back area has tables and a small park with a pound. They have the best scones, and best drip coffee. They actually do pour overs for each cup and it's delicious. The atmospheric Nordic feel of the place actually feels like my old family's homes (I'm Norwegian, only 3rd gen American).
I grew up in the area and this place has remained very much the same throughout many changes (I'm 42). I couldn't compliments this place more.
I have been here a few times, and each time I have checked in or spoken to the staff, I have felt extremely uncomfortable and burdening. The attitude of the people that work here is unacceptable and does not match the vibe of this place at all. It is not okay to speak to paying costumers like they are loitering and imploding on the space while checking in. The environment and overall external vibe of this business is so nice and comforting, but the staff definitely needs to be reevaluated. I went here for my birthday to have a relaxing experience. When I went into my dressing room to change back into my clothes at the end of my session, there immediately was a knock on the door, I did not answer as I was already changing and didn’t feel the need to. After I did not answer, the staff that would be cleaning up the tub area in between guests, began having loud intercourse with one another on the other side of the door. I immediately felt disgusted and horrified by the fact that I paid to be here and had to experience that on my own birthday. A lot of potential rests in this place, but I am never going back. Wish I could rate it a 0/5.
One of the coolest local experiences sitting in a hot tub under the redwoods. Getting a reservation can be tricky if you haven't before, but call or go in the day before after 11: 00am. Evening reservations go fast so if you're not on top making that reservation you will likely be looking at early afternoon spots.
This place is flufffffin legit. Come here anytime of day and get a sauna. They are for reallllll Northern European wet saunas. It’s an actual sauna. But not just a dry one, because it can also be wettttttttttt. Dry for a bit. Then adddddd water. Then it gets all toasty and steamy at the same time. Add eucalyptus oil in the water for the coals and it willlll melt your tiredness awayyyyy and leave you dealing super REJUVENATED.
You can also come here any time of day and get a cafÉ latte.they service the BEsT coffee in the area. It’s awesome:)
Super chill vibes
Stuck in time and space, and luckily so is the pricing. I love going here and the peaceful setting they have created then maintained over the decades. Lots of good memories here.
Our favorite place while visiting Humboldt County. Take a soak, relax, rejuvenate in the tubs. Enjoy a mocha after. You won't regret it.
Very kind ladies at the front desk. The cappuccino was very good. I love the cafe space with good magazine and newspaper options. The garden was quiet and I enjoyed reading out there after my soak. The water seemed not as warm as 104F but still enjoyed my time. I’ll be back.
Super cute locale. Get yourself for rest and relaxation in the hot tubes. Or, go with some friends to get some coffee. Chill in their indoor seating area, play chess. Or, go outside and take in the scenery.
First date, or hang out with friend to catch up. All can be done! Enjoy
This is my favorite place to hang out in the area! Outdoor seating is so refreshing and inspiring with the view of the green pond, I love the natural wooden decor. I love watching the frogs and dragonflies, once an egret landed on the branch right in front of me! Indoors is so nice too, it has a fireplace! They have my favorite mochas in town with giant whipped cream mountains, the staff is very nice, it’s open late, the hot tubs are very very relaxing…I could go on- I just wanted to leave a nice review because I have spent so much time here:)
Cafe Mokka is one of the best places in Arcata. The staff are friendly and helpful. Whether it’s a hot tub or sauna, Cafe Mokka is the place!
This is the nearly perfect cafe for reading by the fire when its chilly in the evening. If anyone knows of anywhere better please somehow say so. I have left Arcata and cannot find this place's substitute. Also the whipped cream they use on the mokka lattes is so good, the girl behind the counter was right, it makes starbucks' whipped cream nasty. I am ruined.
