17I had a caffe latte, it tasted good. The lady over the counter was not friendly but it's okay. Everyone can have a bad day and can't be nice all the time and it's understandable
My friend came to visit this cafe to study as she previously did. She is a paying customer who just needs a change of scenery studying for her difficult exams. As she’s setting down her items and getting her laptop hooked up, Ricky comes to tell her she needs to buy something and she can’t just sit there… my friend tries to explain that she’s only setting up her things and that she will buy something, as she always does after her workspace is set up. Ricky has no patience to hear her out and resumes to treat her poorly saying “I DONT CARE” and asks her to leave the store. Now, I understand Ricky probably hates his job serving others and the owner probably requires the workers to make sure people aren’t just there to use the wifi but there is a way to communicate this to paying customers and visitors nicely and calmly without getting emotional over it. Long story short, my friend leaves the store crying, she is assisted by another coworker who also tells my friend that Ricky is just rude that way and that’s how he is. Another customer also consoled my friend to make sure she was okay after being there to see it happen. Where is the apology from Ricky and the store to my friend? Are you going to continue treating customers with disrespect after they come to your store to study and give you sales? ! Why can’t you put signs up stating there’s a 30 minute max time to set up your space and order an item to use wifi?
Please hire people who actually know how to treat people with love and respect. I hope Ricky is able to find a line of work that does not include serving others.
I’m disappointed in this store and at first I was hesitant at leaving this review, but after seeing the responses from the store owner to the one star reviews, I understood the issue. They do not want our business. They’d rather have the honest people who had bad interactions with the store or workers to never come back there again so THEY don’t have to deal with you. “Move along” “adult male karen” are straight quote’s from responses from the owner. Is this a business you want to support? I wouldn’t.
I hope you use these reviews to train yourself and your employees better on patience and being loving and respectful to all.

Great place. Great service. Kind workers. As of March 28th, 2023 many fake reviews/protests by college students that go in and do homework there despite not getting any food or beverage. Ricky and the other staff have always been kind and cordial but as the place has picked up business the students taking up space from paying customers is a bit of a nuisance. Will happily support this place while it’s there.
My friend and I were walking by and got invited in by the friendly and professional bearded bartender. Would recommend this place highly.

My server ricky was very aggressive and rude, and he kept staring at me and my friends, he wasnt professional and kept reminding my table that we were there too long but we were still expecting food.
They make this Sri Lanken Latte with coconut, rice and tropical fruits. That and their Parippu. Mmm mmm deeeeeeeeeeLicious
They were horrible to my little sister. They spit in her face and then they told her to go “shit in a bed pan”. Super duper rude my dude.

The place was nice and I love the atmosphere but I was encountered by a rude employee named Ricky. He harassed and yelled at me just because I was studying? It’s unfortunate I love the cafe, but the employee ruined my whole experience.
It’s so funny to see all the fake reviews made just by the workers there or Ricky’s friends. Love the Alex Zhang Jr.review that you guys just made and the review you guys did in a reply to the actual Alex Zhang! I’m being sarcastic if you can’t tell, but worst customer service ever just look at the business owners replies to all the reviews, not professional at all! Ricky bro, I don’t think you should even work in the customer service field if you’re going to get a mad at a customer for not ordering something the second they walk in! Do something better than making people cry bro
Ricky displays a nasty attitude. He doesn't know how to treat customers. He is not a suitable candidate for this position. I hope that he will be able to find a better employment opportunity.
Notice all the quasi similar 1 star reviews with a similar date? The kids from the local college sometimes hang out at CDV and study. Some of them are polite and purchase things, as one should. Some of them are less polite and spread out without spending anything. I mean, they are college students, I get it they have little or no money. But Ricky and the other staff are doing the right thing by politely asking then to open a tab if they are going to camp out. Ricky recently had to ask a kid to move on after a refusal to purchase, and now the kids are on a 1 star vendetta. As a fellow customer, I'd love it if none of them ever set foot in the place again! But CDV doesn't deserve the bad rap and poor reviews. What's more likely to be true a) Ricky actually yelled at a paying customer or b) a 20 year old college student who didn't want to pay $3 for coffee was being a jerk?

My friend and I got kicked out for no reason besides being there by a very unprofessional employee. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all
Ricky was very rude. I can't believe such a person works in customer service. The worst experience I have had in my life. I hope he gets fired
Great gelato, food, beer and customer service. I'll be back! Promote Ricky to head of customer service! It's unfortunate youngsters don't realize a business needs to make money. A handful of people not spending 5 hours in a place spending nothing, not coming anymore will actually benefit the business.
I was here getting brunch with a friend and one of the workers was UNBELIEVABLY RUDE to me and my friend for no reason. We felt very unwelcomed & eventually had to leave… we will not be supporting this place that tolerates that kind of behavior from their employees.
Deciding on a drink is sometimes difficult for me so Thank you to the young lady that was patient and for your suggestion on the lavender matcha, it was delicious!
The cafe was clean and bright - beautiful ambiance. Ordering was simple - detailed drink menu, and my drink was made neat and quick. For a Medium oatmilk matcha it was only $4.bonus the matcha doesn’t have sugar mixed into it Thank you! I’m excited to come back and try more.
