6Great place to go hike, run, walk your dogs or just enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We always enjoy walking here around the Lake, Dam or on the Peak. It’s always a pleasant and wonderful experience. Also, there’s wildlife all around from small birds to hawks and other wildlife. Further, people can ride mountain bikes, run or walk here. Finally, you can see an amazing 360 degree view of Carlsbad, Oceanside & Vista from the Peak of the Volcanic Plug. It’s a nice bit of untouched nature in our back yard. Go check it out.
Love this place. For hiking or biking. Also home to the smallest volcano in North America which is pretty cool!
Great hiking. Very Scenic. Has that Vista Carlsbad Feel. Really peaceful place to visit and see. What is also great about this place is it's closeness to the city and roads that I frequent. It's super close to the 78 freeway. I mean it's right in town in Vista. I've been going to this area since I was a kid and has never lost it's flavor. Each year it has gotten better and better whether it be in it's safety or in it's ease of access. What I really like nowadays is it's popularity. Back in the day it seemed like not that many people would visit, but now a lot of people come here. And what that does for is it makes me feel safer to be there. Thanks Vista and Carlsbad for making this place cool.
I love it! I love hiking all the way to the top peak of the mountain, very intense workout! Nice views.
A place with many paths. Some are easy. Some are steep. No matter which one you choose, you will find the wonders of this place. Thankfully we came on a day with lots of overcast. I would not do this with a blazing sun. Awesome view at the top.
