I was very glad to have received friendly and kind service. This shop is a community asset.

Went to a bike warehouse to be told the tires I needed were not in stock. Drove to California Cycle Sport had my tires and some. Friendly new owner. Shop is close to home.

One thing we can all appreciate in this day and age is a break. Matt helped me by tightening up my son's loose handle bars at no charge. Although it was a simple task I expected to pay. The fact that he just did a good makes me want to return. He was very friendly and honest. That's refreshing change. This is a small but mighty place that I will definitely be returning to.

Door was locked during business hours. Customer service was poor. Charged $80 for a bike tune-up, and the chain wasn't even oiled. Not returning.

Brought my bike in for a tune up and would recommend them to everyone! Very knowledgeable owner and employees who are passionate about cycling. Will definitely be coming back for any future needs/repairs.

Always great service here. Just had a tube replaced and kickstand added, very thorough repair and made sure I had the best parts for the bike. Quick and convenient.

The employee by the name of Matt was very helpful. He made finding the right bike for me easy and made me feel confident that I made a sound purchase.

Bicycle Works is the oldest bike shop in SoCal. It is obvious why they have stayed in business. Everyone at the shop is so knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and friendly. They were efficient in providing service, offered great prices and were very honest with the assessment of my vintage bike. These bike enthusiasts did an amazing job. They will definitely keep my business.

After a bad experience I had to edit this review, I’m not going to lie to you folks but if you can avoid this shop. The mechanics are inexperienced and due to Covid bike shops are nuts right now, this one is just disorderly and most of the parts and accessories are knock off china stuff.

I have been here before and have received good service. I brought in a used bike I had recently purchased for a tune up and to replace a few parts. The service person was nice and he worked hard. However, I feel charging $20 for a bottle holder is a bit excessive considering it didn’t come with a bottle. Also there was no mention that the gears were not functioning properly and no receipt for services rendered. It could have just been a bad day, I hope my next experience here will be better. I have to bring it back to have the gears fixed.

PROS: If you’re looking for a used bike or need a simple repair they have you covered. Jeremiah was friendly to me but it was pretty obvious he is not with everyone, I witnessed him get a bit unprofessional with someone he apparently didn’t like.
• Friendly (to me)
• Came in under estimated repair cost.
• Many Used Bikes
• Basic Parts
• Basic Repairs
• Offered free adjustment

CONS: This is not a shop set up to service mid to high end bikes. If you’re a serious cyclist, or aspiring to be, you probably know more than they do and would be better off doing it yourself or going to a higher end shop. I never took the bike back because I lack confidence they can correct there errors.
• Waves sales tax for good rating (unprofessional, though I took advantage of it at the time)
• Employees have little to no authority or autonomy, nearly all decisions require deference to Jeremiah.
• Took Much Longer than time quoted (quoted 1 week, finished in nearly 3)
• Replaced my tires, which I did not ask them to do, and they made no comment as to why or return my used tires which seemed to me to be in good condition.
• Asked for a quote to move my shift system from down tube to handlebars. I know this can be done, I have researched it. Rather than admitting he didn't know how to do this, Jeremiah insisted it could not be done and recommended that I add rubber or plastic tubing to the shifter to make them more accessible.
• Didn’t replace parts that they quoted they would. (Front Derailer)
• Replaced my rear 6 gear cartridge with a 7 and apparently was not able to adjust front derailer to clear the additional width so chain grinds against front derailer when in highest gear.
• Didn’t return old parts, this make me suspicious.
• Didn’t offer or make attempt to fit bike to my height.
• Incorrectly set brakes, adjusted with the brake release OPEN rather than CLOSED making it impossible to remove the tire without readjusting the brakes.

Had a Flat, drove over there and was instantly greeted. Recommended that I also replace the old tire, as the one I had on was rotted. NOT only did they had the tire in stock, he changed it in mere minutes! NASCAR doesnt even do a tire job that fast! Will recommend to everyone I know!:) Thanks Again!
