California Fish Grill

I hate to complain or write a bad review. I ordered Mahi Mahi to go. I was really looking forward to a fish dinner. The MM didn't have the garlic butter sauce it was supposed to. It was dry and tasteless. This was a rush job by the cook. The worst MM I've ever had.

I am writing this review especially for management, with this being a very busy location you should always have someone walking the dining room floor to insure that when customers who are wanting to dine-in have a place to sit. While waiting for our food there were 4 tables that required cleaning (trays and food still left on the table). I advised these cashier about the situation. It took so long I saw 1 customer grab some paper towels and the table cleaning spray and wipe down their own table no one comes out to clean up be hind the next person COVID or no COVID. After several more minutes a lady came out and began to clean the tables the one issue I had with that was she cleaned 3 tables and didn't spray not a single one. Therefore I had to take it upon myself get the same spray and paper towels and wipe down ours table to insure of it's cleaniness, before my family sat down to eat. I'm not going to mention the bathroom, I just want other diners to be aware.

Worst location in CA! They don’t answer the phone. Why have take out & not answer the phone? & their Portion is way smaller than any other CFG I’ve been to.

I ordered Ahi Poke Bowl which was a disappointment. I've had much better at different places. Rice had the consistency of instant rice. They were skimpy on the tuna. I would not order this item from this restaurant.

This place has a beautiful view of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. It's a good place to splurge (a bit pricy) on a fancy dinner with guests visiting. The chowder was delicious and I completely recommend topping it with the local crab. The crab ceviche was ok, a little too sweet from the coconut for my taste (comparing to Mexican ceviche). Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I recommend you make reservations especially around dinner time.

Went there tonight. Food was good. Asked one of the waiter to clean the high chair for my daughter which he did promptly. Great service!

Tried to call in order and was put on hold. Got there and two cashiers were standing there with no one in line. I was still on hold. I then order inside and after finishing my order the cashier next to the one that was helping me answer after being on hold for 21 minutes.

It's good, nice staff. Food was fresh and a good value but not spectacular and I didn't expect it to be. I would say it's two steps up from fast food and a little slow because of it. Totally worth it.

Every time I come to the California fish Grill on Slauson & Sepulveda it's always an issue. The little Mexican girl Cindy doesn't know how to manage. The 4 times I've. Come here it's ALWAYS AN ISSUE. Over charged twice another time my salmon tacos didn't have hardly any salmon on them. Today April 7th I ordered my food before my brother and sister and they both got their food before mine and other people getting their food before mine. I asked Cindy the manager 2 times about my food and she said they're cooking my kids meal which was battered fish. Why in the hell does 2 piece's of fish fizh take long to cook. I can almost bet if I wad Mexican, my food wouldn't have taken so long. NEVER GOING TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN. THE ONE IN GARDENA IS MUCH BETTER

Food was decent. The Mahi mahi was a little over done. The shrimp was good. There was an issue with my pager and I had to go see what was going on. Come to find out my food was sitting there. Last time here was really good.

One and half year ago, I had very positive experience here. With good memory, I came here again only to find that their portions have shrunk so much. I could barely finish one combo plate before, but now I am still hungry after eating. Also they add salt like crazy. I would say covid definitely changed this place.

Great selection of fish (catfish, swai, branzino) in various forms (classic fish fried w/ chips, grilled, in tacos). Gets busy around dinner so consider looking at their menu in advance online.

Carina gives stellar customer service quality of food is impressive. One of my favorite places to eat please give this lady a raise because we need more like her!

Worst location ever, food was cold af, got my order wrong 2 times and cashier old Hispanic lady had a nasty attitude, , my food was completely mess, if you really want California fish grill I recommend the location on el segundo

The prices are great and honestly the food is DELICIOUS with a GREAT AMOUNT OF IT! Definitely eat there more often and will do so many more times in the near and distant FUTURE TOO!

Just ordered the Atlantic Salmon via Uber Eats. Absolutely phenomenal food. Salmon was cooked perfectly and the garlic butter sauce had so much flavor. The zucchini was cooked but not soggy whatsoever and was full of flavor. The rice tied everything all together. Overall 10/10 and I'd gladly eat from here again.
