California Fish Grill reviews
16They are very good, just takes a little longer to get the food. Probably they are doing it so well.
They USED to have a juicy fish and chips. Tonigh, by far it was the WORST fish and chips I ever had, if I can call it fish and chips. It was all batter with maybe a thin layer of fish inside. Even I thought it could be a ground meat or so. I definitely will not give them anymore chance but wanted to share what I experienced as dinner from fish grill after a long day.
This place was surprisingly delicious. Great portion size that left you satisfied but not overstuffed.
If this is the future, I’ll politely see myself out. I think there’s a camera on the screen that then predicts what you want to order. The menu is clunky. An older woman using it ahead of me was completely perplexed. And it then asks for a phone number. So I gave it a fake one. Pretty invasive for just wanting a shrimp bowl. Not a fan of this trend.
Good food. They are adding more items to the menu, which helps folks that do not want fish.
Our meal was delicious! My family and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Great customer service and food. This place is a must try. We will be going back.
The place is very nice, it has tables both outside and inside and they are very comfortable. The food is not very abundant but it is a fair portion. The only criticism is that although they have a children's menu, they do not have changing tables for children and I did not see chairs for children either. The food is very delicious.
Food here is generally good. I've had a great selection of there dishes and I don't think they have ever disappointed in regards to their freshness and quality, although the portion sizes has gone down I find, especially with the sides.
I mean, zucchini and cauliflower is quite inexpensive. If I order these as my sides, they should be filling up the container with such. I think CFG can do better here, especially when other places pack in the veges to fill up space, come on CFG!
Also, remember to ask for lemons and utensils.
Ordering ahead online is quite simple too, just check out as a guest and don't worry about the line when you get there.
Think they have messed up 1 of my orders in total, giving me a wrong order.
There are lots of options for everyone's needs. The food was great and it was not busy late in the evening. The only complaint in our group was ordering a double for a side with the plate did not seem like a real double amount.
It's upsetting that when you order a grilled plate, swai, and salmon, they give a smaller portion of fish they usually served.
I'm upset about the tipping options for takeout, using their new kiosk ordering system. During the pandemic, I'd tip at least 25%. After the virus risk had moderated, I'd tip 10% at the register, generous for takeout. But the lowest tipping option is 15% using the kiosk. The options are 15,20 and 25. I'd like to tip the staff, as I appreciate both their efforts and the food that they serve. However, I find the current tipping options to be presumptuous. And, frankly, if everyone tipped 10% for takeout, the servers would be getting wealthy given the robust takeout business. So I've started to alternate when ordering, between leaving 15% and leaving no tip. Instead of 10%, the staff is getting 7.5%. That's unfortunate, but management is not leaving a better option. Next complaint. I'm also tired of seeing the "free delivery" option. They are only increasing the cost of meals for dine-in and takeout customers. Final issue.after years with no mistakes, they placed the correct meal description on top of the wrong meal. The individual bagging meals was distracted by overt joking with other employees. This seems to be a recent change to the previous business-like attitude of staff, and we'd noticed it on previous visits. It's getting casual and sloppy, perhaps new management?
Went there tonight at 8: 10 to get dinner and they were closed. Their website says open till 9 pm on Sundays. Drove from Concord for nothing.
I was loyal customer at this place because of food quality but today I have a different experience here. The portion of foods are getting smaller and smaller and the grilled Salmon was overburdened and the food price was so high for such a quality.
It’s rare to find a casual place that has a good choice of healthy vegetables that’s not just a salad! I’m also a big consumer of seafood in general so this place was appealing.
It’s a little more on the expensive side, but wonderful. I ordered sea bass with chimichuri sauce and zucchini. The sauce that came with the sweet potato fries was deliciously spicy. I would definitely come here on a regular basis.
Good value and good amount of food served. Parking in the area is crazy hard, super busy mall area. Take a little walk and park on the second floor, entry by safeway
I came in today with a friend- she had fish and chips which she enjoyed very much and I had the Tilapia with kaleslaw and seasoned tomatoes and feta. My plate was soooooo good. I honestly didn't have high expectations for the food but I enjoyed every single bite. My only criticism of this place is the employees could smile more. My goodness, some miserable looking people work in the front.
