Officer Nibert came to my rescue, on Monday, July 3rd, about 10: 45am, when my engine seized about 10 miles out of Red Bluff, on HWY 36, in the middle of NOWHERE! He tried to troubleshoot, jumped the battery, called a tow truck, waited nearby and made sure everything was good. He didn't have to be SO NICE (but he was), he didn't have to be SO HELPFUL (but he was), he didn't have to wait nearby (but he did). OFFICER NIBERT, THANK YOU!

I unfortunately did not get the officers name, but if I do I will update this review. My son slid off the road from Antelope Blvd going onto the I-5 North on ramp on Saturday 2-25-23. It happened around 6: 20am. The roads were very icy and he was driving from Chico to Redding after working the overnight shift at home depot. Fortunately he was OK, but was unable to get his car off the side of the road. He tried to walk over to McDonalds, but slipped on the icy road and fell hard, busting open his eyebrow (needing 6 stitches at the hospital) When we arrived my mother in law was at the scene and so was this officer from chp. He warned us that the roads were extremely icy and asked us to go park at the shell station (if we would have stayed on the side of the road he was worried there could be another accident) The officer took care of the tow for my son's car while we took him to the hospital. The officer stayed in contact with my mother in law the whole time and gave her updates on where the car was at, etc. Not only that, this morning he called her to make sure she was aware of how to get the car out and asked about my son's condition. The follow up by this officer was amazing because this show of caring is above and beyond what I would ever expect. This man shows that he truly cares about the people of the community and I believe that this needs to be recognized and modeled by everyone. If somehow this reaches him, please let him know that I admire and respect his commitment to his community and I thank him for making sure my son and all of us are safe. We need more people like you in this world!

I want to thank and express my gratitude to the Red Bluff CHP. Officer Tawney went above and beyond when we were stranded late at night after a tire blow out. He was vey professional and courteous. Im sograteful to all law enforcement officers like him, they provide so much more to the public than we realize.

First I want to say I appreciate everything the CHP does to keep people safe on the highway. My review is more of a plea to hopefully find a way to help/assist them do their jobs. I understand they can't be in multiple places at a time. But my experiences on I-5 during this construction have been extremely scary. The signs clearly state 55mph the flashing speed readers clearly showing the drivers their speed is no deterrent maybe even a challenge to see how high they can get it to read and even an officer with a vehicle pulled over before the fines are doubled signs doesn't seem to me much more than an obstacle to get past and continue going in excess of 70mph. Even 18 wheelers don't adhere to their 55 speed limit even out of the construction zone. I feel like a target out there driving the 55mph speed limit. Cars, trucks, and big rigs flying past me with no regard for the workers or other drivers on the road. In the last few months I personally have only seen 4 vehicles pulled over by officers. I have seen multiple big rigs going off the road because their speed is too fast. Scary. Very scary. I understand there is cost to having officers patrolling continuously but there is also a very high price to the lives lost because too many driver's aren't taking the construction zone seriously. I've had multiple occasions with diesels crawling up my butt and then flying past me. I'm not sure why I'm being passed by sooooo many big rigs. They are always supposed to be going 55mph. And yet I'm being passed because I'm going 55mph. Passed by cal fire, pg&e, fed ex, plumbers, electricians, etc. It did seem better when it was down to one lane maybe a little slower than 55mph but a much safer feeling trip. I wish there was a way maybe there could be license plate readers who send tickets to offenders if there can't be more of a CHP presence to help get the message out there that this is really a serious issue. I'm sure the revenue earned from these tickets would in a very short period of time would way more than pay for the readers. Imagine the real numbers of people who can be saved. It would really wake some drivers up to paying attention to their speed in at least construction zones in the future. I don't think most drivers are thinking about the right around $800.00 ticket if not more that they are looking at for speeding in the construction zone. The tactics being used now don't seem to be even close to enough to get the driver's to SLOW IT DOWN. Thank you for everything you do to keep our highways safe. Just hoping to find a way to help it be even safer.

We can't thank Officer James (Jamie) Keffer enough for helping us out on Hwy 36 on Tuesday, Oct 1st. Our MH died half way in the road and he stayed to make sure tow service arrived ASAP and our safety was secure. Thank you so much! !
