Awesome place! The owners are some of the kindest people I've had the experience of meeting and run a great place. Very unique experience - truly nowhere else in the world like it. Campground felt very safe and welcoming. I have stayed twice with my young children & felt very comfortable. We loved it and will definitely be back!?

One hell of a place very well kept for the circumstances and locality of this establishment. Would give more stars but only five are available for me to give so all five stars definitely can't wait to see the finished product of this camp ponderosa.

Felt safe for the first time around the Slabs. I could go to town and return to everything I'd left in camp untouched and secure. Lots of different rates and services to match your needs.

In Slab City they have a saying, whenever you get into town you'll be greeted with a warm "welcome home ", and at the Ponderosa they don't just say it, they mean it. Plenty of good food and good vibes all around!

I've camped and visited The Ponderosa many times over the years. It is a safe place to visit with family, friends, and to go and chat with the locals. Tuesday night is chili night during the winter season, they have open mic nights, and there is always something going on there. The most relaxed and safest spot to visit in the Slabs.

The owners are theives and have no moral compass. They made an agreement to purchase this place with someone else's money and completely robbed the other person and cheated him out of the entire deal. Claim to be family oriented but through their own children out on the street for others to have to take care of. This buisness was build and grown by an entirely different owner which sold the buisness and is no longer affiliated. Whats done in the dark always comes to light and these people are not trustworthy or whom they have portrayed themselves to be. Beware there are many unknown dangers lurking behind the persona displayed. I wouldn't trust my dog in their care let alone anyone I cared for. They are breaking more laws than you can count starting with selling of alcohol without any permits renting living quarters without paying taxes or having met any legal standards required and basically operate under the radar on a prayer they don't get busted. If this is the type of people you wish to add support and help make money than why bother to hold yourself to any standards at all just call it a free for all and tell other buisness owners their foolish for following laws and standards set for your safety and fair buisness practices.

For personal reasons i will not comment other than its a nice place if your a tourist. Much better than the others

Chili and open Mike night on Wednesday, surprised how great the music is out here. This is the best place to eat with breakfast and dinner most days, good chill clean no drama vibe with a great mix of older and younger people from all over the place

It's a nice place to go. That good food. Coffee in conversation with some interesting people
