After 15 MONTHS of waiting, my husband finally received the rest of his order. Numerous calls and emails to the owner to getting so many different stories. The way this company runs their business is deplorable. While the product fits great and looks very nice, would never go through the aggravation to receive a product. Totally understand backorders and delays, however the l misinformation that is being told where the product is etc is so unethical. Do yourself a favor and choose another company to purchase your lift kit needs.

Years ago I bought a lift for a Suzuki Samurai. Hard as a rock!
I talked to apparently the owner a couple of weeks ago and asked about fixing a Suzuki Sidekick lift. He told me he wouldn't help if I bought junk off the internet. I wanted to tell him LIKE I DID OFF OF YOUR INTERNET SITE YEARS AGO?
When someone tells you how intelligent they are and what a great company they are. Hang up or run as far as you can from them because they SUCK!
I read your response.
You didn't read my review very well.
The only junk lift I ever bought was from you. It was on my Samurai less than 2 months. Of course you wouldn't make it right so we did another. That was back in 2008 so I was hoping you maybe had fixed your products and attitude.
NOPE THATS WHY I HUNG UP ON YOU 2 WEEKS AGO. I don't buy junk!
Only once from you.

Read reviews for Full-Traction Suspension and Hanson Offroad. Notice the address. Also, notice how there seems to be a “Steve” that likes to berate his customers at more than one of these businesses.

All the negative reviews are true. Ordered a part on 6/20. Never got the part. Told it was on the way on 6/28 in an email. Didn't get it. Emailed again 7/13. No response. Emailed on 8/18 asking for a refund. Guy immediately called and was hostile saying I was never charged and he doesn't like being accused of taking money. So, I look in my inbox and there is a Sales Order on 6/20 with the part and the total. I guess a Sales Order means the order is placed but not charged. Touche, Calmini- You only took the order and didn't fulfill it for two months.but at least you didn't also charge me and then not fulfill the order for two months!

My kind advice to this company is to get an office manager who can change how they do business. If they didn't take orders when they have a large backlog they wouldn't have 130 1-star reviews for example.

TLDR - Don’t order from this shop, they don’t manufacture all the parts like you think they do, they won’t ship your order, and Steve is an ape.

The receptionist on the phone is very nice. Buts that’s all the positive I can say. Steve told me he was implementing “the Nelson policy” (named after me) which will make all Isuzu owners pay cash up front, no refunds for their products. He said “we’re all the same” (I guess all Isuzu guys actually just want to get the parts they paid for?) I find it funny too how he said he’s “changing” the policy to cash up front for Isuzu owners, as if I didn’t pay cash up front. He said I’d only be paid when it was ready to ship, and guess what? When I was charged, my order wasn’t anywhere near ready to ship. Look at that! I did pay cash upfront Steve! After weeks of excuses I finally called in and just cancelled my order (which was refunded promptly to their credit) Steve yelled at me for a little and called me all sorts of different names claiming that I’ll never be able to find these parts anywhere else. Well obviously I will be able to find them somewhere else, because that’s what you guys do. If you’re under the impression this “shop” actually makes their own parts, you’re dead wrong. They’re glorified dropshippers masquerading as a small business. I’m going to mail Steve a shirt with a photo of myself on it surrounded in hearts. Hopefully it’ll lighten him up a bit. I feel bad for the receptionist, because she is very very nice. I hope they’re not married because man I would not want to have to live with Steve. I can only imagine how many holes are in the walls of his house. I love you Steve, call me if you need someone to talk to - you know my number.

I recently bought a first gen frontier as a way into some cheap off-roading fun. This is my first modified truck, so I'm not as familiar with the aftermarket truck part community as I am with the aftermarket car community parts selection. I wanted to brace the idler arm as it's a known weak point on these trucks. There were only two companies offering this product, and the Calmini part was superior in construction, design, and at the same price point as the other offering. A quick google search of the company brought up a LOT of horror stories from both forums and facebook groups. The story was always the same- the company would take your money and the product would never show up, or if it did show up it would be months later. I decided to chance it and just order the bracket because it was the only option I had, and I figured if I lose $75, it would be a lesson learned. To my surprise, Steve actually called me a few hours later letting me know my part was shipping out that day. He also answered some other questions I had on 1st gen Nissan Frontiers. Two days later my part did arrive, and included a photo for proof. The part was well packaged, and the blue powdercoat looks fantastic.

Overall, I do have some feedback:
1. Unlike modern vendors, I didn't receive any order notification or shipping update in my email. Calmini would benefit from a modern platform to automate this, which would eliminate a lot of the confusion of "where my order is? " question.
2. All of their products are custom fabricated, and Steve expressed to me he is having trouble finding skilled labor. This will lead to long lead times. BEFORE you place an order, give them a call to get a realistic expectation of how long it will be until they can build your part (s). Most fab shops are backed up for months getting product built. If you don't get a call back or the lead time is too long, don't order with them, simple as that.
3. Calmini would benefit from listing out whether products on their website are in stock or not. I had no idea my bracket was readily available until I ordered it. A modern inventory management system would assist with live inventory tracking via their website. This could also set realistic fabrication lead time expectations for each kit and/or product.

Its so sad to still see so many people getting screwed over by this shop. Waited 6 months before finally involving my credit card company to help get my money back. Lie and lie from everyone I talked to over there. Absolutely the worst name in this business. Anyone who associates themselves with Calmini should be ashamed!

Quite a while ago I ordered a liftkit from these guys, they took the payment and I waited for my product. After a couple of months and many calls I realized I probably wasn’t gonna get it so I started shopping for one somewhere else. After finding one elsewhere I called Calmini to cancel my order and told them I found another one. The owner told me I was making a big mistake as their product was far superior. So to stop the argument I told him I was gonna take a custom rear bumper that they make instead… well … here we are again months later still waiting on that bumper and every time I call it’s a different story, one week it’s been shipped last Friday, then the next week they’re waiting for parts to come back from paint? ! Do yourself a favor stay away from Calmini.

I had a friend wait over 3 years for a sas kit for his xterra.a few years ago they took for ever to ship me rear shackles for my isuzu trooper, my dad waited over 6 months for a tube bumper.that didn't arrive.the owner is extremely rude if you try to cancel an order.your wait time is so long you'd be better off taking a metal fabrication course at your local community college and making your own equipment. (it would be faster too) Long story short if you don't want a mid teir product a year late and to be verbally berated because you think that's a bit absurd.this isnt the company for you.
