Food is always fresh, tasty, and served hot. Staff are courteous and patient.
This place gets busy, and rightfully so.

Classic and super tasty Chinese food. We had the mushrooms dish, curry vegetables and cauliflower dish, and everything tasted very authentic and very yummy! Will definitely cone back!

Order a bento set meal over the phone, but if you don’t want something sweet, just ask if the fish-flavored shredded pork is hot and sour or sweet because there are two different ways in the north and the south. The waiter answered the phone and asked me bluntly? Don't know what it smells like? At that time, I just wanted to simply order a bento from the nearest restaurant. So bear with it. I went to pick up the meal and reconfirmed that it wasn't sweet. The result is sweet. And I felt strange after eating, I dare not say whether it is caused by the bento. Talking to a friend about dinner today. Thinking of the bento two years ago, I will come back and give you a score. Really need to train the waiters how to do a good job.

It's been a while since we came back to eat here. It was really good before. Our last visit last Tuesday was disappointing because all of 7 dishes were too salty. I told the waiter, but it seems he doesn't care.

Very good food, but too busy and too expensive.
Except for the eggplant dish, that was awesome.

Holding it down with the Chinese cuisine. The cannan shrimp is so tasty. Fried rice is tasty. All around good service as well

Amazing fresh food. In USA for 1 week and it was THE BEST LUNCH I have had (and I ate in San Fran Chinatown 4 days ago). My bro family were here in 2017 and raved about it. He did miss the complimentary this time.

Had the worst experience and Customer service by Joy the manager. Ok so emergency happen, I get it, but this was so poorly handled in my opinion. First off I drive from east L. A.in 90 degree weather in bumber to bumber traffic for 40 minutes. I CHECKED THIER WEBSITE there was nothing of it closing at 300pm. That's the problem I have! All the time energy gas, wasted with out as much as an offer to make it up to me. Even after I made the request for compensations, maybe free appetizers, a compt meal. A discount on my next meal nothing but a shallow" I'm sorry it was an emergenys" " but what about us" she real said that? Hard to feel bad for them when I had been so put out, with nothing more then a false sorry which felt more like a to bad, theres others resturant go there Joy also said that! Dreadful attitude, stingy money hungry woman. Shame on her! William Garcia

Small place; busy lunch rush; food selections were good and overall very tasty. Give it a try, you'll probably like it. Fair prices for quality of meal.

I have eaten at this restaurant so many times, but we never thought that the poor service that others said on the Internet would also be encountered by us. We are clearly the first on the waiting list, but the people behind us are asked to go in first? ? ? So is your queuing fake? ? Such a poor service really wasted such a delicious dish!
The waiter with the very bad attitude is the fat woman with the ponytail

Probably some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had… and I’ve had many! Good service and qualify food

This is by far, the best Taiwanese / Chinese food place around. Food is extremely fresh (as they are cooking daily on the spot, due to traffic), extremely tasty and everyone there apppears to be chinese, from the front desk, servers, cooks, so it appears the tradition is preserved. My favorites are: FRIED RICE (either chicken, pork, veggies) orange chicken, cashew nut, white fish, their tea is awesome! I have also tried Bobba, ice cream and the lunch specials are great. Place is in line with family lunch, business lunch or even to take your chinese food lover date.

Great food. Some of their dishes are the best I’ve ever had with no other Chinese place able to dethrone them, no matter the cost of the food. However, this business randomly closes on random days. It should be more professional and up to par with the standard that the food the chefs are cooking.

Prices are expensive, however you do get what you pay for here. They use legitimate no cost cutting ingredients or fillers. You can taste it, your body can feel the difference (health wise and taste wise).

They need to pay some decent web designer guru to actually make the online ordering work for both sides: provide much needed convenience and telephone call anxiety relief while giving Canaan a no risk new pathway for higher order generation and higher volume of sales. The business should also state on their website that the prices seen on Yelp, doordash etc, are inflated on top of the prices that Canaan charges. The surcharge price for a typical order is in the realm of $15-25, which is frankly semi outrageous, since the food isn’t really a low cost venture.

Also their food quality is noticeably better when their kitchen and dining room is not fully packed.

This restaurant has something truly special with its food. All they are missing is to learn how to cook and offer chow mein noodles like how Paradise Dynasty cooks them down in Costa Mesa. If they could emulate this, Canaan will be considered superior/supreme.

Also if they expanded, I can think of so many locations, that would be an instant hit for decades… they got so much potential. I hope it is fulfilled to the fullest. It would do themselves but more importantly it would also do the people of relevant surrounding communities, a great premium food service and privilege for those lucky to be nearby.

I also think they shouldn’t close on a random day of the week, but perhaps only offer super reduced services on that day they wish to close. Such as have a junior or newbie chef cover that day with openly and publicly letting customers know (be transparent, as this will be in Canaan’s benefit as customers will appreciate the honest gesture) and just provide the best sellers and a bare bones menu of options (orange beef/chicken/beef filet/chow mein but paradise style (I wish) /yang chow fried rice/Mongolian beef/broccoli beef

Oh, I also wish they would adopt my cucumber salad recipe. It is superior to theirs and it would go oh so well with their foods flavors. Feel free to reach out to me if interested (no sarcasm).

I hope this helps anyone who reads this.

Canaan Chinese Cuisine brought a delightful surprise to my taste buds. The Orange Chicken was a standout, cooked to perfection and glazed in a deliciously sweet orange sauce. It had a homemade touch that was both comforting and scrumptious.

The Kung Pao Chicken struck a perfect balance of savory, sweet, and a hint of spice, dancing delightfully on my palate. The authenticity and depth of flavor in each dish were unmistakably noticeable and highly appreciated.

The Fried Rice was the ideal accompaniment, light, flavorful, and carrying that irresistible umami that makes good fried rice truly satisfying.

Rounding off my meal was a Thai Tea, served without boba. It was the perfect sweet and creamy end to an incredible dining experience.

Having tried many Chinese restaurants and being fortunate enough to have tasted the home-cooked meals of my mom's Chinese friends, I can confidently say that Canaan Chinese Cuisine serves up some of the most authentic and flavorful Chinese dishes I've had. Their food carries a genuine, homemade quality that is hard to come by.

The name of the restaurant, Canaan, originates from a significant biblical figure. Canaan, the grandson of Noah, was known for being part of the lineage that led to the development of the Canaanite tribes. Just as Canaan left a significant imprint on history, Canaan Chinese Cuisine may leave a delightful imprint on your memory. I highly recommend this place to anyone in search of a taste of Chinese cuisine.

The foods that we ordered were good. Love the fried Fish with sweet and sour taste, crispy outside soft in inside, the string beans w/ ground pork has good taste, walnut shrimp was delicious, egg tofu was so so for me and recommend for the Mangolian beef, tender and nice taste.
