Candy Land reviews
14This is a terrible business with terrible employees. I came here with my mom, husband and 3 children. The worker there today at about 1: 45pm on 12/29/2022 was very rude, judgemental and disrespectful to me. We had 3 adults with 3 children. I went to the side in the store for a couple of minutes to buy important tickets on my phone while my mom was with my two young daughters. My 5-year-old is very responsible and has her own money. I told her she could fill up a small bag of candy to buy with her money. The older female employee came over to me and told me to watch my kids. I then went over to my kids only 5 feet away and told the employee that my mom is also with them. Then she told me, "You should be taking care of your children instead of spending so much time on your phone. " I told her that I don't need parenting advice from her. Then she proceeded to argue and yell at me and then I told her that I'm with my children, so there is no issue. She told me to leave the store or she will call the police, so I took my children and left. My chidlren and I were doing absolutely nothing wrong. This company will never receive our business after being treated so poorly. The employee was very unprofessional and I hope she gets fired for the way she treats and talks to customers.
Employees are so disrespectful. If you have the chance please avoid this place until they hire someone kind and professional.
I got the creme brulee truffle. It did NOT taste like creme brulee. It was extremely sweet and only tasted like white chocolate. I do not recommend.
After one bite, it was obvious the candy I purchased was extremely old, stale, and gross. Upon asking to return the candy, I was advised there is a no return policy. This seems reasonable for a candy store, except in cases where there is clearly something wrong with product. It was only a few dollars, so not the end of the world, but was disappointed enough to leave this review.
Extremely over priced. You can buy these sardines at Costco for $2.00 each. And they sell them for almost $9.00. Ripp off. And Saltwater taffy was old.
This was the most expensive, terrible candy I have ever had the misfortune to have purchased. Rocky road, pecan turtle and two small peanut butter cups for $17.00. The candy tasted terrible and we threw it out which says alot about how bad the candy was. Save your money and keep walking by this candy store.yuck!
So much candy! Hard to pick a few. My grandkids will be happy! Every possible flavor of taffy.
Refuse service for mask choice. The mask was a full face and according the the city of Monterey, was acceptable. They just lost a lot of business, this was going to be for a school function. Don’t buy from this business
Love the store lots of variety, cashiers not to friendly and store manager has a very mean attitude, my daughter tried to pay with a master card and lady said they won't take gift cards, I tried to explain her it was a credit card, she start explaining why won't take gift cards with an aggressive attitude and letting me know I could go to another candy shop. We've been costumers for years and I don't appreciate the way the situation was handle very unprofessional
Ok, ok. It's super expensive and the folks working aren't super friendly but the selection is pretty incredible.
Prices are absurd.
Here are some real examples (judge for yourself)
Mars bar (regular size). $3.99
Ghirardelli chocolate squares $0.99 each (they are $0.49 at the Ghirardelli store a block away)
Chocolate dipped Oreo (single cookie) $2.99
It seems like they took everyone else’s prices and doubled them. Even stores that are a just a block away. (So it’s not as of the location justifies the price)
When you go here there is no signs or indication of how much loose candy is per pound. The lady at the register gave very bad customer service and ignored our questions. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. The candy is very overpriced as we got very little candy for $22.
Go up to pay cashier ignores us then starts cleaning ice cream freezer telling us to wait in an empty store. Guess your conveinace is greater then ours. We left bad service.
We asked how much the price was for Salt Water taffy, and the lady at the cash register was hard to understand. So we didn’t know until it was rung up.
We were shocked, and we still don’t know because our receipt just has the total money, not how many pounds. That is probably by design, so you don’t walk away.
We got about a half of a basket for $32.
We were dissapointedly surprised, but just took it, because we were almost out of parking time and wanted to bring some home.
The ONLY good thing was the vast selection.
Don’t go here. There are other places on the road.
