Capurro's Restaurant reviews
19Some of fish was rubbery that you couldn't cut or eat. Chips were really hot, which was good.
Good pizza. Pleasant service. On the other hand, the road with large motor vehicles is noisy.
A very good time was spent in this winery. Really interesting explanation about the wines. Great service. Thanks
So I gave the service 2 stars bc, we have to order at the bar before we sit down. They bring you the food and check on you once in the beginning of the meal and then never checks up on you again. Also, sandwiches or main entrée do not come with sides. The pasta I order was good because they make the pasta in house.everything was okay. But the decor of the place is cool, it's got alot history.
Great food! They have their own parking behind the restaurant as well. Crab is the best, especially the crab cake type balls. Their's a reason they've been in business over 60 years.
Capurro's reminds us NEVER judge a book by it's cover. Although the atmosphere was very impressive the food was just terrible. I order the pasta and added crab for a few extra dollars. I got Angel Pasta missing just one thing, taste! Very little crab on the pasta. I also ordered Cheese Garlic bread. It was very hard and dry. I'm not even going to talk about once my drink (Lemon Aid) ran out the server never refilled it. Bar tender told us Refills were on the house. I had to ask three 3 times for a refill. Mu wife ordered Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. She was pleased with her meal overall. I would not recommend stopping here if you find yourselves in San Francisco. Horrible pasta very little crab add on and Terrible service for a $80 meal for two. In closing I regret stopping here for dinner as it disagreed with me and I got sick back at my hotel. This review is just and fair for my experience. Should you stop for dinner I sincerely hope your experience is better than mine. Respectfully submitted. ~•~
Absolutely fantastic, this place should be packed. Was recommended to us by a local, apparently it's one of the last family owned Italian restaurants around.
The clam chowder in a bread bowl and Parmesan chicken sandwich were SO GOOD! I’m so glad we went here for lunch.
Great food and fast service. Great location near the trolley and maritime historical park!
The wine sauce had no wine and no salt so that was a bummer for my husband. They did substitute muscles instead of clams in the dish he ordered though. The fish and chips was really good. There really was no service we paid at the bar before the meal and there were no drink refills. I don't know if that's typical or the way it works.
We wished we had eaten at Capurro's sooner during our visit. The fish tacos are the best we've ever had. The service was great, the restaurant is clean and has great atmosphere. For our last meal in San Francisco we couldn't have done better. Thank you.
For a RELATIVELY budget dining experience with decent food at Fisherman's Wharf, I suppose it would be hard to do better. But it's not exactly romantic: you pre-order and pay at the counter, then find your own seat. The blackened snapper was fine, no complaints. If you order mussels, I recommend a side order of bread so you can properly enjoy the broth. The Caesar salad was up to standard. You might not rave about the food, but you won't complain either.
Everything ok.can't fault anything.friendly staff, nice atmosphere and delicious food.
The most amazing food! Great wine! And Wonderful atmosphere.
Would give this place 10 stars if I could.
Clam chowder was amazing. Best I've ever had. I ordered the snapper with picatta sauce and veggie bowl. TO DIE FOR
Pros: Order at counter, can get in and out fast. Prices aren't terrible compared to other wharf restaurants
Cons: Food is meh, nothing we ate made us want to come back
Visually, I like the Italo-American cliché, but then it falls away. The pasta with mussels had too little salt and too much sand. My Tequila Sunrise was actually just schnapps with schnapps, so cocktail is really too far-reaching. But the location itself is really great.
One of the better options for grabbing some food when you're in the Fisherman's Wharf area. Good food, friendly service, great location.
The place is very nice. The food not so much.
Stale garlic bread, the pasta was overcooked and glued together. The Sole was drenched in grease, the calamari and anything fried was very dark brown and not good. A shame
We wanted to eat the famous crab of SF but it was dissapointing.
