You won’t find shoddy online quality or big box glasses here. There are few places that have quality eyewear in Sacramento and quality isn’t some bougie brand. I laugh at all my friends who buy a bunch of cheap glasses locally and online because they’re always complaining about needing to get their glasses adjusted or parts that break. Go to these people who know quality and how to fit a pair. Glasses are the first thing people see for those of us visually impaired or can’t/won’t wear contacts. Don’t waste your money elsewhere and support local.

I brought a pair of prescription glasses in to this person to replace a missing nose-piece. Several minutes after taking them back into his work area, he brought them back to me damaged. He had broken off the nose-piece support. In a rather cavalier tone he joked about it and said I would have to take them to another optical store to repair the damage he did and fix the original problem. He never admitted fault or offered to pay for repairing the broken support. Correcting the damage occurred at Carmichael Optical and the missing nose-piece at the second store were done to the tune of about $75. The owner of Carmichael Optical is, in my opinion, questionable in his work and customer support. He should have offered to at least split the cost of repairing the damage he did. Go somewhere else. This guy is bad news.

I've been purchasing glasses from Carmichael Optical for almost 2 decades. Whether it has been a few months to several years between visits, they always remember my name and I'm greeted with a warm welcome. My eyes are very important to me so I refuse to try a cheaper alternative. My glasses prescription is a bit on the tricky side. Other places would create bulky/heavy lenses, but Carmichael Optical always manages to fix that one crazy lens so that it's not heavy or I don't look like I'm wearing a pair of beer bottles. Service and product is well worth the cost. Would never go anywhere else.

A great place to go for your eyeglasses repair. I am from Sacramento. I used to go city of Stockton for repairing my eyeglass until I found this place. Because it was the only place I knew then that repairs eyeglass right and for a decent price. I went this place for repair and was excepted to at least pay a small fee for repairing. But, the owner there did not even charge me a cent.

I strongly recommend this place to everyone: great service and friendly people.
