Carnitas Uruapan Mexican Food reviews
19Used to be the best Mexican restaurant in La Mesa. Their Uruapan burrito is usually so good but the last 2 times I've been in, it's been a rice burrito with maybe 2 shrimps at the bottom. Also no napkins! What happened?
Local spot in San Diego, as it can be hard to find a reliable taco shop with so many options, this restaurant is a go-to and never disappoints. Highly recommend the chilaquil burrito, as not too many places in SD make them well, and its really good with salsa.
I came here again for the chorizo burrito I was disappointed it was all eggs I asked for sour cream and cheese nothing in it there parents should re train them and the cook sucked the girl is rude and never smiles very unsatisfied customer
They're very nice and accommodating. I ordered one cheese enchilada with the red sauce. The second enchilada with chicken/green sauce. Nice and hot. Good! Full!
Best Shrimp Uruapan burrito, love their carnitas, they are also really good. What disappointed me recently was a raise in prices, although that could just be through delivery services. One of the things that made this place so good was lower prices. Love to support small businesses. This is my favorite place for carnitas.
The carnitas for one is a super deal, and easily yields 3 thick tacos. The flavor is amazing.
The combo plate and carnitas for 2 is a feast for a family of 5.
Worse carnitas I never taste before.cilantro looks horrible
Onions super big size, 1 pound and I just have 4 lillte salsa. I don't recommend this place, better to go any Taco shop before go this place.
La carne sin sabor ni sazón, a nada sabia, el cilantro en ramas, no tenian cueritos ni buche, salí insatisfecho de el lugar, no lo recomiendo, prefiero tacos del 7-11 que tacos de carnitas de éste lugar. O estrellas.
Been meaning to try this place.so glad I did. Reminds me of the one that used to be south of the border.will be back. Caritas for two was so great.dessert was the carnitas burrito.lol.seriously a must if you like carnitas
Thee best mexican food in San Diego.can't go wrong in this restaurant prices are the best serv3 is A1! Thanks Marcos Martha Gracie and Leslie!
Authentic and original. The canitas are one of the best in east county. Servings are generous (dinner for 2), so prepare to take some back with you. Great selection of salsas. Good service and tables available inside and outside.
I am from Mexico, and I know what real carnitas should taste like, well this place is as good as the ones from Mexicali in San Diego! Juicy porky goodness, crunchy tasty chicharrones and very good guacamole, rice, and beans. If you don’t like a heavy meal, get the carnitas tacos plate. Two very well served tacos with the works. If you like a good size meal get the Maggi burrito, carnitas and chicharrón, pico salsa and guacamole. And for dessert, order flan.
I have been eating here for a number of years, they have a carnita plate that is out of this world, And the price is very affordable the servings are large, they have a large menu and everything is reasonable,
The location is small and very clean.
Great food, really. Everything is amazing. The only think keeping me from that 5th star is their recipes that seem to be illusive. Sometimes i’ll order multiple of the same item in a week, and it’ll be slightly different each time. Sometimes i get one type of guac and sometimes i’ll get limes instead of lemons, or i’ll get 3x the lettuce than i did the time before. Don’t get me wrong, even with these inconsistencies it’s still delicious, by all means. I highly recommend coming here.
We love this place! Food is always fresh and family is very friendly. They never upcharge for customizing my rice rolled tacos. The only suggestion I have is they should use gloves during food prep. Definitely worth trying out as a good taco shop is hard to come by in East County!
Tonight I got dinner for the family (4) and was amazed the heavy sack of food was only $39. Carnitas fries and nachos were so good and the wet burrito was filled with delicious carnitas. My son loved his rolled tacos but says next time he is ordering the carnitas fries. We have so many leftovers, we could have just ordered the fries and nachos.
I love this place but don’t go there enough because it is 1.5 miles away and I have two taco shops between here and there. We will definitely make the trip more often.
I just had an adobada burrito that was as close to a transcendent experience as I've had in a long time. This establishment has ton of history behind it, and has moved from it's original location years ago, but damn- they can still cook. Come for the carnitas, stay for everything else.
I am giving them a one because zero is not available. We walked inside and the lady was extremely rude and did not seem to have any time for us. After sticking my head under the plastic shield I asked if we order first or sit down, and she seemed to be very upset and gave me a very short answer. So we left.
I would give this place 0 stars to be honest! I never came to a restaurant and had extremely cold food like not even warm? ! The carnitas were semi warm and the chicharron was cold like ice cold probably the nastiest thing I've ever ate! If you think this place is good you're definitely on one. This place is NASTY!
Ordered 2 carne asada tortas - not good at all, we were surprised because they are usually very good.
Not this time, it was all bread roll and yellow cheese mostly- the meat was scattered very stingy. The whole thing didn't look or tasted fresh.
